I'm 63 years old and one of the things on my bucket list is getting myself a Harley and ride from Toronto Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 all the way to Sturgis bike week some day.

I owned three AMF Harleys , all three 1976. (2) xlch Sportsters and one Electra Glide. They all leaked a bit and broke down a bit, but I learned to be a some what decent customizer and a mechanic. I could fix em at home, on the road or where ever. I owned (2) Triumph Bonnies from the 60's used and a two yr. old 69 Honda 750 four also and they broke down just as much. I learned a lot in those days. If I owned a bike now that didn't break down, I don't know what I'd do.

Couldn’t get through the first minute. Crummy bikes, a insult to American engineering, an embarrassment that this is all we had to offer motorcyclists around the world for the last 60 years. Sorry, poor performance in every measure and I have to ride foreign motorcycles to get performance, safety reliability. Harley quit of innovation long ago, it’s embarrassing.

Thanks for correctly dating the start of the company to 1904. 1903 is false. I have a 1954 golden anniversary dealer promotion poster. Had a bone stock 1974 amf electraglide. Was a much better more beautiful bike than 1968 last year before amf saved Harley. Amf developed and introduced the 1971 superglide which incorporates the style of the sportster with the power of the electraglide. Huge leap for HD by amf. And did research and development of the evolution engine that spurred the huge popularity/profitabilty surge of the late 80s and 90s. Then harley started production of the twin cam junk for over 20 years and destruction of the franchisees. They need another amf to save them.

My first harley was a 59 sporster..I sold it some years ago and regret that decision to this day. I'm 53 and I now have a 17 street glide that i have kept mostly stock. It's amazing how 99% of motorists don't tailgate me or pass with a wider gap than nessary when I'm riding...not the same when I'm driving my 4 wheeler.

I ride with a H-D group once in awhile--its boring--they all have grey hair or bald. They seem scared to go over 55 mph. They ride from bar to bar, til they need to go to get some sleep.
