I live in the woods, central Maine. We have numerous old stone walls with mammoth glacial rocks, peppered with huge piles of basketball-sized rocks. I imagine many of these were stacked by hand, and the larger ones moved with animals. I've also found several large rocks that were deliberately cut, with lines of holes still visible. I often think of the amount of effort it all must have taken. It is a beautiful place to spend time.

He was 13'6". Just kidding. Maybe... So it was your grandfather who just about crashed into our stern... My Three Girls, outta Beals Is.. with Aunt Robert... Circa 2002??? 03 maybe? He thought someone was hauling our gear and waited, watching the sonar screen... I didn't know wtf was going on until the grey beard popped through the fog 30 to 40 feet behind us, towing a wooden dingy on a string. I used to go out to the island scalloping, no URCHIN diving with Killer Smith... In his 46' wooden hull. I couldn't imagine being towed out in a skiff PLUMB FULL of flatlanders... In THICK-UH Fog... If ya ever decide to take the island back let me know... Ahrrrrr.... 🦜🏴☠️ Because I wanna sit back n watch history, or better yet local lokefore happening.

Born and raised in maine, mid 30's now. i loved moxie as a kid but I remember one day picking up a can and finding the flavor suddenly revolting and i spit it out and was like 'i think it's gone bad'. Dad drank it, said nothing tasted off to him. I'm not sure what happened to my taste buds that day, but I've never liked Moxie ever since. 😭😭

Our property in Albion, Maine had several stone walls. As children we loved to examine the stones because, even though we lived in central Maine, about 30 miles north-east of Augusta, we found loads of sea shell fossils. Many hours spent wondering how they got there.

I learned about Moxie totally in MAD Magazine. In the 1960s! Every diff artist had Moxie bottles, cans, or posters drawn in their rooms or outdoor scenes. As a kid I thought it was a made-up drink, I didn’t know it was real; later I thought it was something from the past. But I always appreciated it as a comic visual - and it wasn’t till I was a very very grownup that I realized Moxie is still going strong! 😂 Thank you, MAD Magazine, for making my life better in so many ways! 😊
