  Thank you for watching this wonderful Shirley Bassey song & video. This lady is able to change her timber and vibrato to match the genre of song she sings. Because she was trying to win the part of Nancy in the movie Oliver, she used her wonderful Operatic Pop sound. And, to amazing effect! It's too bad that the Shirley didn't win the part and the song was not chosen to be in the movie! It's also too bad that the producers didn't decide to professionalize the recording and introduce it as a Single for Shirley! Shirley's recording of Lionel Bart's "As Long As He Needs Me" was a top 5 hit and it stayed on the charts for 6 months. I believe this would have been another hit for Shirley!

  Three classic bond tunes. She doesn’t perform Moonraker much because she doesn’t consider it “her song.” Johnny Mathis was selected to sing it originally, but when they didn’t like his version they called Bassey & asked her if she could come to Paris to record the song. Needlessly to say she nailed it. It’s one of the most melodic of the Bond songs. Goldfinger still #1 for me.
