As a life-long Jr fan, this is funny. After Richmond in 08, yeah I hated Kyle. Especially after all the struggles Jr went through.. It sucked watching him get dumped after he was legitimately out-racing those guys that night. I never held a grudge, though. Kyle is a once-in-a-lifetime driver & this sport needs him. Would love to see Kyle get back to winning in 2021

I could never understand Kyle's bitterness over being let go at Hendrick. Because of his talent he was able to hook up with a team that he can win with every week. It wasn't like he was let go by the Super Bowl champ & he had to sign with the team with the worst record in the league. People lose jobs everyday who don't deserve it. That's life. I'm glad he & Jr. eventually got past this & they seem to get along better now.

Lance McGrew statistically is one of the worst if not the worst crew chief in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series. There's a reason why he isn't in the sport anymore. It wasn't Jr's fault he didn't win with him, no one could win with him. In 173 MECS races as a crew chief drivers under McGrew have only 1 win, 16 top 5's 40 top 10's with an average starting spot of 18.1 and an average finish of 19.9 with 13 DNF's. Of the 48,627 laps in 6 seasons between 4 drivers only 757 laps were lead, with the majority of the laps being lead at Pocono (140), Charlotte (108), and Loudon (101). The only win for McGrew as a Cup Series Crew Chief was at Talladega in 2006 with Brian Vickers, which most people will remember that race as Dale Earnhardt Jr was leading the race going into turn 3 on the final lap with Jimmie Johnson in second and Vickers in third. Vickers wrecked Johnson and Earnhardt going into three beating the field back to the line for the win. Brian Vickers drove 72 races for McGrew with the other drivers being Dale Earnhardt Jr 59 races, Mark Martin 36 races, and Brad Keselowski 6. Only 1 win in 173 races which come by a guy wrecking the two leaders to take the checkered flag is not good, especially when one of the drivers (Mark Martin) is in the Hall of Fame and two of the other three are most certainly future members of the Hall of Fame themselves (Dale Jr, Brad Keselowski) With the talent of those 3 there should have been multiple wins. The numbers do not lie, Lance McGrew was a terrible crew chief.
