What happens if you turn on the emergency lights?
The 4 way flashers will confuse the system. It will likely show a black screen as the system will not know what camera to activate.
Love Gulf State park. We stayed there last year for 6 days. Next time we go back there we’re taking our e-bikes . Great video ! Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.
I would have to get a 4th camera for the front of the truck to use as a dash cam.
@makeupyourmindinator hailoview does make a model with a dash camera and backup camera. It is the bt12, I think. You can use the link here in the description to see all of the different models
@@Jonesin2Go thanks for the info, I will definitely check them out.
I’m appalled that they use what appears to be wire nuts for their outside wiring. They should be using heat shrink butt connectors to prevent corrosion, but what do I know I’m just a dumb diesel mechanic.
After having a Furrion camera on previous trailer, I was less than thrilled; so I went with the BT7 when we traded in the trailer. I like the BT7 a lot, and the better resolution is great; but I do see a slight lag with the side view cameras, so it's imperative to remain aware and check mirrors when looking at the sides. My rear view camera is adjusted down to particularly help with backing up and parking the trailer, and that unfortunately means extremely limited road view; so I plan on installing a second rear camera adjusted up for better traffic view. I bought a Haloview elastic mount to attach the monitor to the vehicle's rear view mirror; the only problem with that is clearance between monitor and vehicle ceiling. Haloview helped me with antennas that mount closer to the body of the monitor, giving a little bit better clearance. My Winnebago Micro Minnie had a solar power connector right where I needed to install one of the side view cameras! I found a plumbing part that worked to fill the connector hole so I could re-mount the solar fitting and have clearance for the camera.
Great job😊
It’s been about 3 weeks or so since you installed the cell booster. How is it working for you ? Great video guys.
@rvadventuresofdavidkarenlu3362 so at each stop we have noticed that it does make a difference. We see at least a one bar improvement with the signal. We have even noticed pages loading better in some areas and other areas not so much. So I guess over all it does make a difference. We are in Maine now and the service is terrible,we did get a one bar improvement sometimes more if we put our phone next to the indoor antenna.

Anyone else have the 770 and it randomly drops, tires? frustrated for sure.
Mine is doing it on our new rig. We are over 42 ft long so I am now moving the range extender out of the front compartment and back Further on the coach to see if it will improve.

I have a keystone, Montana, as well with the exact same fridge. And yes, I'm having the same issues. I changed out the lower fan because I noticed it wasn't working. I am still having the same issue above 40 to 50 in the fridge. Now I've noticed the larger fans aren't working at the top of the fridge in the back. May need to have a conversion with someone close to me here in south Florida. Thank you for the video. Very informative.
@dalegreen486 you can order and they will ship you the kit. Best thing we ever did to that RV. We got a new Montana last October. Just replaced the 12v Fridge that came in it with Dutch aire from JC they seem to be the best in the RV Fridge business
In a previous video you talked about the 'trigger" function needing extra work, I think that video was several years old...... On your new system has the issue with having the side cameras active with the directionals been resolved?
@douglaswoeckener1904 the new system that I am using now does not have that feature.
I have to agree with the lack of O rings but it burns me up when you put down a company without proving any of your claims. Just saying it’s a Chinese company isn’t enough proof.
@reberhardt so finding the metal that is supposed to be stainless steel rusting in just a few short months, quick connect fittings that leak, are also rusting and built cheaply. The fact that the softener just stopped working in days weren't examples of that? Or the fact that the company won't disclose the materials that their product is built with. how about the filters? What kind of testing was done? I am confident that the Blu Brand is a superior product and i stand firmly by my findings. Yes, I could have covered every detail I found when researching them both, but then the video would be an hour long, and you would not have stayed around to see it all. So that's why I gave links to the company website. Everyone can see for themselves the difference. And make an informed decision based on what they find to be important to them. I'm confident that most will come to the same decision I did. I also used both products before shooting the video, and those results were factored in.
Awesome video! Thank you for all this information. Have a 2022 Montana Legacy that has a few of these issues. Just ordered a 80amp fuse to try and fix the low voltage error I keep getting.
It does fall on the manufacturer, that is the refrigerator tat that they choose to use. They should require Norcold to improve the quantity of the refrigerator or source out a better supplier.
I can't speak for other manufacturers, but Keystone has done just that. And they have put pressure on companies like Norcold. In fact, the gas/ electric refrigerator is no longer being manufactured for that reason.
100% false that rv manufactures are not at fault at least some of the time. These items installed (slides, refer, stoves, furnaces etc..) have installation specs that manufacturers dont always follow which cause problems.. the Refer is biggest installed problem (absorbtion type, like you have) ventalation is extremely important and its the rv manufacturer that has to make the cabinet and proper ventalation . Which i have had to fix numerous times across all brands
The reality is that the manufactures can only choose to install what is available to purchase. As for this Norcold 2118. It is no longer being manufactured. This was the result of the RV manufacturers and customers complaints. Unfortunately it takes many complaints and time for change but it happened.
Useful Video! ☺Thank you so much!!
Very well done video

Looks awesome! I've been working remotely from my RV (thankfully I've been getting great connection thanks to HomeFi internet, even in rural areas) and I love the lifestyle but I want to renovate the RV to make a more comfy office space. Thanks for the great ideas.
It's not a huge space but it functions very well for one person and that's all we need. We love how it turned out. Glad we could inspire you!
Thanks for the great video information on Independent suspension. I've seen a couple of videos now about Independent suspension and I believe that is definitely what I want on our next rig. I've had to repair so many things that have shaken loose or have needed repair because of the rough roads. I'm convinced that the extra expense of IS would be worth getting a smoother ride and less internal repairs.
It's definitely worth it, in my opinion. Whenever you have it installed, use our code; jonesin2go to save money
Huge bucket list item for our Montana
Totally worth the investment in our opinion but be sure to use our code jonesin2go to save yourself some money
@@Jonesin2Go Thank you. Will do.
Worth a rebuilding absolutely
The absolute best frame ever built I own 2012 3750FL 39'. Used & abused, cosmeticly not so good, electrical is fail. Plumbing is nightmare. The slide outs are a monumental failure, however structurally absolutely the strongest
If you have bad staining, how long would you keep your awning rolled up for? 30-40 minutes?
I would say that should be good. Depending on how long the stains have been there it may not come 100% but 30 min should be good. Just rinse well to get all the bleach off.
@@Jonesin2Go thanks! Subbed.
I have a 30 ft TT with Furrion. I have no issues with it. Does what it needs to do. I basically use it to make sure the totes I have dont fall off and " sometimes" for backing in. I also have mine hooked up to the upfitter switch ( Ford)
Hooked to the upfitter switch that is interesting and a good idea. So how did you run that? Just to the camera or throught the running lights?
@@Jonesin2Go The camera. Camera runs to the upfitter switch wires in the engine bay. My 250 is a 22 and they are on the passenger side. You have to turn the driving lights on even though they are auto.
I will never recommend furrion cameras in there current state. Video quality is trash.
100% agree. Seems furrion in general, regardless of the product is poor quality.
I was thinking the same thing.
you know what would be a good idea, norcold should hook up with jc refrigeration with a licencing deal and promote a quality product
That would be a great idea
the rv manufacturer chose to use those brands of appliances
This is true. However, they can only use what is available. Some manufacturers like keystone for instance track warranty claims and look at the products they have issues with. With that said they then look for a better product,or work with a company to make changes. This particular Norcold refrigerator is no longer being manufactured. There is a reason for that. The Rv industry put pressure on them to provide a better product. Unfortunately this takes longer than us as end users would like.
I watch your vid on norcold site on the jc refrigerator, so I found you on KZread so I could ask ? And low and behold you just bought the same fifth wheel we live in 3901rk ours is a 23. So how did you like the 12 volt fridge in the long run and your new one is a house fridge. Also we stayed in n Tampa this last winter thanks matt
So the norcold that JC Refrigeration converted in our last Montana was a great decision. It worked great,in fact the new owners of that rig love it. It is doing great almost 3 years and still going strong. We ordered our new 3901RK with the 12v option for the refrigerator instead of the residential. It is a furrion brand. Unfortunately it does not perform as well as the JC Refrigeration conversation that we had done. Looks like we will be replacing it with something else soon, what has yet to be determined.
I haven't had a Garmin since like 2007 lol so I'm way out of touch with them but I just bought an RV and was interested in finding out the best option. Do the Garmin units have live traffic updates?
Yes if you also use the Garmin drive app
I just bought the newer BT7 Touch and can't seem to get the trigger wire to work. Here is a copy of what I sent to Haloview, but would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this issue. Hello, I am having difficulties with the trigger wire for the side cameras. I have the BT7 touch and the BTC129 side cameras. I hooked up the trigger wires to the left and right brake light wires in my 5th wheel pin box. When I use the left and right signal in my truck, it does not switch to the right or left cameras. I have the trigger setting set to ON. It seems to be sending the signal to the cameras as when the signal in on the touch screen becomes inactive as evidenced by the screen saying "screen lock" or "trigger lock", something like that, and you can use the touch screen. When you turn the signal off, you can then use the screen again. Similarly, when you press on the brake, the screen also becomes inactive. This is likely due to the fact that trailers share brake and turn signal wires. I followed this video, kzread.info/dash/bejne/aH6rzbWdgqm1aLw.html&ab_channel=Jonesin2Go, which confirms the shared brake/signal light issue. I set up the system just like the guy in video and still get the same result. I used the Curt turn signal isolator as he did as well. I tested all wires for voltage and verified that the signal wires are getting over 12 volts with each signal pulse so the current is there. For some reason the cameras are not reacting to the signal. I did find at times if I push and hold the brake pedal down, it will eventually trigger the right camera to come up on the screen. If I let off the brake, it goes back to Quad View. That tells me the system is getting trigger signals, but it appears the turn signal is not triggering the camera.
Great video. I tried to recalibrate mine but while it does level the RV almost to perfection, 1 leg isn't touching the ground at all (a good 4-5 inches gap) and another one in diagonal is barely touching. Is this normal? Anyone has an idea on how to fix this?
I don't know why it would do that. Would you be able share if this is a consistent behavior? At the end of the auto-leveling cycle, the controller goes through all the jacks to see if they are grounded. It looks for small changes in the angle. If a jack is 4 to 5 inches off the ground, it might be the auto level cycle was interrupted before completing.
What do you use on Rv then
I usually use snow foam from chemical guys. You can run any car wash concentrated soap in a foam cannon. I have tried several brands and they all work well. And make good foam.
Did you figure out how to mount your cameras without needing to drill holes? This is a great option if wifi is unavailable. A bit on the pricey side but at least there is this option.
So yes I came up with a couple options. Sometimes we strap it to the arms on the awning. I also mad a wooden block that I can attachit to and sit it on the top of our slide room or even up on the roof. We have even strapped it to a tree.
I had the same problem with my install and all I had to do is hook the trigger wire to the signal wire before it splits to the brake light wire before the fuse box under the dash if you have the proper testers you can find the correct wire and dont have to buy any more parts.
I have had Haloview for years and have been really impressed up until now. I installed the entire system with RV rear camera, two side cameras and a camera in the truck to align my pin while hooking up. Recent changes to Haloview has really upset me. Their new system is NOT friendly to their previous system. Cameras are different, cable from the rear camera to the wireless repeater is different, display is different. In other words "I would have to install an entirely new system (at new system cost) AND... pull a new wire from the rear camera to the repeater module which was practically impossible to do the first time. They needed to upgrade their system so it was backward compatible so the cost and wiring that would make a person with a generation 1 system could reasonably upgrade to a generation 2 system.
Very nicely done sir!
Thank you. Hope it helped.
For a 40min instructional video, it would help if you use chapters to timestamp different sections.
We just got our new 3901rk yesterday. During our demo they warned us that the auto lvling will always put the front jacks way down, more so than previous years, and thats ok if u r on a lvl lot. So our first site guess what, the front end of site is higher than the back end and the front jacks buried themselves in the ground wanting to go further and wouldnt allow the back jacks to start the lvling system. I manually brought front up and tried to manually lvl the rig but the front has no way of individually lvl. So work around i guess will be to use some wood and place them on the one side and let front two jacks down and then manually do back which u can individually
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. If I understand what you described correctly, your saying that when you hit auto level the front Jack's retracted all the way, dropping the front as low as it could? Did the hydraulic motor keep running even though the Jack's were retracted all the way?
Good video, my Furrion drops signal periodically too. Not real impressed with the Furrion. I've only used the back view so that I can take a peak at the bikes back there.
I have the Furrion system, and I have not had the lag you describe, but it does occasionally drop signal, and the resolution is horrible. The vehicles are just blobs on the monitor. Their true value is about $150,not the inflated price they sell for.
You would expect that as long as furrion has been around, they would have improved by now. They don't seem to be interested in doing so.
Really excellent review of the features of this system. You've convinced me to consider the side cameras.
They do come in handy when needed.
In one of your previous Haloview videos you mentioned you had a U.S. contact for Haloview. I can't find any.
I reached out to him a while back, but didn't get a response. I will be checking on this.
