i actually appreciate the conflicting emotions about Kendrick because i went through the same thing. in the immediate aftermath of Meet The Grahams and Not Like Us, i felt more dejected about the absolute hell that Kendrick took the beef to kinda slightly more than the things he was saying about Drake -- not because those things were equal in weight, definitely not -- but because I am such a Kendrick fan and am invested in him, his story and the perception that I have of him, and I don't actually care about Drake at all. but i think the thing about what Kendrick said "why would i go trying to get dirt" and then having the accusation he had against Drake, i dont think those are conflicting at all. he didnt look for dirt, the dirt was available in the open for all to see, but for some reason no one has been able to call it out in a way that actually stuck. (nevermind if its true that Kendrick had insider information that was given to him, which would kinda have to be true because Meet the Graham's timing and content was so perfect against Family Matters that thats the conclusion ive come to -- or Drake is just very predictable, which is... sad) and the cover for MTG was changed because it had identifying names or because Akademics claimed Drake said it was stolen or something. the planted story is debunked basically since that guy showed that those items were stuff Drake left in a hotel, he didnt feed Kendrick any info, otherwise that would have been his first response after MTG and not an IG story mostly, i dont appreciate that women and children were used by both sides as gotchas in this beef. but i also dont understand what people actually want from Kendrick. i dont think he has any concrete, call-the-attorney-general type of evidence. its probably just what hes heard or seen as an insider in the industry, whatever that is. that might be the real reason behind why he dislikes Drake. the "hate they way you walk, talk, dress" is just a reference to what DMX said about Drake on The Breakfast Club. and why is it that we know the police and justice system are highly corrupt and racist and ineffective, and yet our kneejerk reaction is "go to the police!" ? go to the police and say, what? that Drake is weird about younger women? idk, this is where Kendrick using the "pedo" label was really pushing it too. hes a little to cavalier about throwing that term around i think the Pop Out including Dr. Dre is unfortunate too. because 2 things can be true at one. Dre is one of the most important figures in music, esp West Coast music, and yet he is also an abuser and got with a 16yo when he was 22. it dilutes the message. i kinda wish Kendrick would be more multi-layered when he does shit like that, because its also the issue he had when he included Kodak in Mr Morale. the message gets muddier. but he is also actively seeking not to be seen as a savior. but he is acting very much as a champion of hip hop, culture and setting boundaries about who should be let in and kept out to protect this thing that he really loves and matters to him. i dont know this is too long now but i understand the internal conflict thats going on with this beef, if you really stop to think about it. but im letting the Black Hippy reunion bring me joy. i love seeing those day 1 TDE boys together. im glad we saw Whitney and the children having fun at the concert. im glad and proud for Kendrick for his community showing up and showing out for him. (i dont think those people are there and united because they hate Drake. its because they love Kendrick. it just so happens that all that was facilitated after the beef and soundtracked by a diss song 😅) i would love an album if he wants tog ive us one, but i also kinda wish hed take a rest after the NLU video drops and just lay low for a bit and live his life again and get back on his healing journey or sumn

I believe being a walking contradiction is weird in many cases. We actually love Kenny for the same reasons so that’s more where I feel like this beef opened my eyes to his true character. If I’m still riding the “it was planted” train, I’ll say that those items were all mentioned in Family Matters as a way to say I already know what you’ve got. The contents were all too specific and also random to just be in one of Drake’s bags. But more so you can’t say you don’t go in the streets looking for tea and yet you got all your tea from the streets. Even if you aren’t sending people out to find it, the fact that it’s coming to you and you use, it means you’re still participating in the tea party. Even though MTG was diabolically amazing, it was built of lies and was just dead wrong, incorrect information and so the song fell flat for me. But Kenny knew none of that mattered and so he won that battle. Kendrick is a genius and knows what day and age we live in when it comes to how people receive information. Which leads me to the biggest point of your comment. Kendrick claimed to know where the bodies were buried, Kenny accused Drake of being a PFi, if you’ve got information like that, you can absolutely turn that over to the proper authorities. People go to jail everyday for things like this. Probably not nearly at the rate as they should, but he could do something if he had it, but as we both agree, he doesn’t. I’d be way more comfortable if he stuck to the “weird behavior” even though that’s be debunked be said victims themselves, but the way Kendrick double, triple, octuples down on the PFi thing and but hopped on a song that sampled music by an actually registered one, you have a man on stage with you who has been accused of similar things as well as actually beating up women, not gonna mention Kodak for the sake of keeping this cohesive, but yes, that too lol. If Dre had done those things to someone that Kenny loved, regardless of Dre’s status and imprint on HipHop, the man would not be up there. If you are standing ten toes on something and you believe it to the fullest and you’re denouncing a thing with great passion, you’ve gotta be consistent across the board, no matter who it means skipping over. If I’m standing on business, idc who you are, it ain’t happening over here, but Kenny knows bc he is who he is and Drake is who he is, he can get away with it. This is the moment I realized he is not our savior and, in fact, he may not actually care about many of the things he professes and where we as the culture have made him the voice of things that he truly has no concern for. I believe words and actions have meaning and it’s never lost on me for the sake of a good time, especially behind such heavy topics. By singing a song like NLU while having actual contradictions in your face is like only an intentional thing I believe Kenny is now capable of. As a Pulitzer Prize Winner, I believe Kenny is intelligent/manipulative enough to know that nobody genuinely cares. People will dance with their babies to this song, they’ll chant it in the streets, they’ll tattoo it on their bodies, all while never really digesting the truth of the matter and it truly was God’s plan to show us the liarS 😂😂😂😂 It’s all diabolical lol. I wish I had the ability to disconnect and just bump things and many times it is. It’s just coming from Kenny I’m a little disappointed.

I was here FRONT ROW (FIRST ROW) !!! & I wouldn’t change a thing about this concert !!! Her voice going out was so authentic and it happens !!! But it didn’t stop the show and the rest of the show she pushed allllll the wayyyyy through & it was AMAZING !!!! 💚 A True Artist is what she is but she is also Human !!!! She didn’t go in the back and kept you wondering she let you know up front and wanted to fix it so she didn’t give you subpar performance. . . By singing a song like NLU while having actual contradictions in your face is like only an intentional thing I believe Kenny is now capable of. As a Pulitzer Prize Winner, I believe Kenny is intelligent/manipulative enough to know that nobody genuinely cares. People will dance with their babies to this song, they’ll chant it in the streets, they’ll tattoo it on their bodies, all while never really digesting the truth of the matter and it truly was God’s plan to show us the liarS 😂😂😂😂 It’s all diabolical lol. I was here FRONT ROW (FIRST ROW) !!! & I wouldn’t change a thing about this concert !!! Her voice going out was so authentic and it happens !!! But it didn’t stop the show and the rest of the show she pushed allllll the wayyyyy through & it was AMAZING !!!! 💚 A True Artist is what she is but she is also Human !!!! She didn’t go in the back and kept you wondering she let you know up front and wanted to fix it so she didn’t give you subpar performance. . .
