Very clear and to the point. It makes sense to teach elementary children the basic fundementals of learning instead of modern day kindergarteners learning history and science. Extras that they will learn eventually once they are older.

One of my internal portfoliwhats? Are your videos intended for a class you teach or something? I just watch them because of my affinity and love for ancient history.

It definitely seems so with the powerpoint style presentation and her asking to take notes at the end. I'm not part of her class either, I just watch it because it's cool and interesting.

I think it was assumed that either Athena or Apollo would be Zeus' successor, but it was actually Dionysus. For the next era, the killed and resurrected, half-mortal God of wine is worshipped, and Apollo the light bringer and Athena the Goddess of Wisdom are banished.

Gaia gives birth to Uranus and then is impregnated by him, multiple times. She is irked by this, so the tells one of the children to cut off his genitals with a scythe. Uranus manages to impregnate his mother and sister one last time during the (presumably arduous and sloppy) castration. The Greeks REALLY knew how to tell a story!

I have heard that the oarsmen in the warships were not slaves. They were free men employed by the state. They were valuable because they needed a lot of training to be coordinated so they could row quickly and efficiently. The myth that they were slaves arose in the 19th century.

  • @niklasmolen4753

They were a kind of city guards. They patrolled the streets in rich neighborhoods and kept order. They should probably not be seen as today's police officers.
