    Thank you for sharing! I’m trying to figure out what plants I can keep alive and have blooming in the summer. What kind of butterfly bush is that?

    I have a very old pale pink crepe Myrtle and several Red Rockets. I rescued 3 four inch seedlings this year and they are a pink rose color I was hoping for a red rocket but I guess seedlings aren’t hybrids

    I didn’t know my dad planted them for me. I never watered them for years. This year I took time off work and started watering my yard. They flowered for me. It was the biggest surprise ❤️

    When it’s windy the water will be blown away and soon you have no water in the birdbath. You can use another top that don’t splash so much.

    This was from the Lowe's on 19 in Spring Hill. I don't know that I've ever seen them until this purchase either. I have a massive one that is 12 feet tall growing in my woods... but I don't recall from where I got that. I purchased three online from PW but they seem to take a long time to "leap" in the shade. ;-)

    Hi-how is this doing now? Wondering if in general do you have any deer issues? Is your land fenced, etc? I'm in 9a and planning some wildflower areas and orchard on our new acreage hopefully soon.

  • @transcendcreative
    @transcendcreative Жыл бұрын

    Funny thing is, much of the phlox and tickseed planted themselves outside of where they bloomed last year. Apparently, they are not a fan of pinebark mulch. As far as the newly planted area, i'm just seeing sprouts popping up now. It has been inordinately dry. I rarely see deer here. I think perhaps coyotes take care of that... which is another issue unto itself. ;-) My land is horse fenced but I did see one deer jump it from standing still 20 years ago. I will update with photos when I can. Thanks for asking and good luck with your orchard.

    Planting little pine needle trees is great right now, but they become bigger and you get needles everywhere....Or is that a Fern tree....Both are good for privacy as they grow out and up.....Smell nice in the rain, but people get tired of them after so many years.......Keep doing what you are doing and i hope the subs grow..

  • @transcendcreative
    @transcendcreative Жыл бұрын

    Thank you. These are cypress trees and will get to 100.' I have 10 acres, so I don't care how big they get! My woods are filled with pine trees and I love them. I don't rake the needles up, I leave them as mulch. I will, however, rake them for pine needle mulch in other areas of the property. Thank you for your comments! I sometimes don't think about typical sized yards! Right now I'm focused on making this big pasture more welcoming ;-)

    You are correct. However, we are in the dry season, and it won't start raining much again until the spring. I appreciate that you pointed this out because these will rot if water accumulates and require very little water. Thank you for your comment.

  • @transcendcreative

    i appreciate that. sometimes the ones around here don't have good plants. oftentimes, they have typical landscape plants... i think one issue i have with local nurseries is they don't put their inventory up. when i am searching for a specific plant, i suppose i can call them but i definitely don't want to drive 40 minutes and find out they don't carry the plant type I need. i do try to purchase from small business etsy folks. today, i ordered bromeliads i just can't find here from an orlando bromeliad specialist. when i see a plant i would like to have, it is so easy to find them online on etsy and ebay. the local stores don't have good inventory online.
