Happy birthday to you, Bobby Clarke!
My favorite enforcer. Finished EVERY check. Always exciting to see him on the ice.
@@worddeuce so true!
Bobby Clarke, master of hard work and commitment to winning, lead by example and putting the team first,no better captain for any team, anywhere, any time.Mvp and legend.A very nice interview,a lot of good questions and answers. Thanks for doing it.
You're welcome! And thank you for listening.
Great interview Dylan!!
Thanks for listening!
Cool interview. I remember chainsaw back in the day. Great tough guy, always thought he was an underrated skater and always finished his checks.
Thanks for your feedback. Down to earth guy who would appreciate your comment!
15:52 Dryden quoted Clarke as saying that Trottier was the toughest. He liked playing against Espo because you could upset him and knock him off his game. Lemaire he didn’t find that difficult. The two Doug’s (Risebrough and Jarvis) had their difficulties but Trottier was the best. 10:49 No rule in hockey that says you have to let the other guy hit you.
Great insight! You sound like a true hockey fan. Thanks for listening and we appreciate your comment.
he just played in a charity game at the rink I work at! such a great dude
That’s awesome! We will pass on your comment to him. Thanks for listening.
Great interview!! Every hockey family would enjoy this! Congratulations to both of these players on their success!!
@@ladylincoln6691 we agree!
Congratulations!!! This is the best hockey podcast. Continued success!!
Wow, thank you!
Clarke was a dirty player. He dserves no respect.
Appreciate your opinion and thanks for listening!
We love listening to hockey stories! What a great gift this book would make!!
Thank you!
Paul Holmgren and Jack Carlson are my two favorite players all time. This was a great interview.
Thank you!
He was an exciting player. Beloved in Minnesota.
Yes he was and thanks for listening!
One of my favorite fighters, especially when they put him on a line with Basil McRae.
Thanks for the feedback. And we agree!
Fantastic!!! Love the stories, what a career!!
Glad you enjoyed it! We will pass on your feedback to Mike!
As a NY Ranger fan Holmgren was one of my favorite players to watch. All eyes on Holmgren when he hit the ice. I always hoped for Beck, Fotiu, or another Ranger tough to be on the ice at the same time. Holmgren carried his stick like the Reapers Sickle!!!
Thanks for the great feedback and thanks for listening!
Big Rangers fan as well. Holmgren was a tough cookie and one of the early power forwards. He locked horns with Nick Fotiu a couple of times and if you watch a video after the handshake line once the Rangers eliminated the Flyers in 1982, it's clear the two respected one another.
@@annoyedatthis1 Thanks for the feedback. When we interviewed him, you could still see the fire in his eyes. And yet, as you stated, total respect for his opposition.
He was tough as ever and big
Another great interview guys!

There’s few players I respect more than Clarke, make no mistake, he was the general, the leader of an expansion team that won back to back cups in 74,75. It never would’ve happened without Bobby Clarke - and we probably wouldn’t have won the Summit series in 72 without him.
We appreciate the feedback and kind words about our guest! Thanks for listening.
Absolutely fantastic! It was wonderful to hear Natalie's story and Minnesota is very lucky to have her. Every female hockey player should be watching this! Girls really do have futures in hockey now. Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Clark was a real vicious wolverine at only 5'10''
Thanks for listening!
Best of luck to the Chippewa Falls hockey team. Great interview!
His plus/ minus throughout his career at nearly every level has been terrible.
True, but give him credit that at least he’s even his last 5 games and is improving!
Hockey is really the best and these young men prove that! Great to hear their stories!
It was a pleasure interviewing them. You can see why they were voted captains of their teams. Thanks for the feedback!
What a guy!! Fantastic!
Thanks for the feedback. Chris is on the move to higher levels of hockey coaching. Be happy that we have him!
Loved Finger here in Toronto he was one of my favorites when I was 10!
Thank you. We will pass on your comments to Jeff. And thanks for listening.
Greetings from the USSR! Bobby Clarke is a true sports legend, yep, he was not easy guy on the ice for each opponent, doesn’t matter it is the Club level, or National/NHL team, today he is just an example of a positive person with a wonderful sense of humor! In the USSR we didn’t like him... basically for a sports incident with Valery Kharlamov, including who, by the way, he was my favorite Soviet hockey player... But Bobby Clarke did not let down not only the Soviets - he played in the same style in the NHL... I don't really remember details the Summit 72 games, I was 10 years old, but in general the feeling was fantastic? It as like we watch the other side of the Moon in hockey - Canadian people shoulder by shoulder. And Soviets the same. United by the game! I was real sports competition, guys on the ice from both sides played the game based on non-commercial interests, battled for the homeland! This approach doesn’t exist anymore… A true captain, dedicated to his club. There, in the 70s, in NHL they had the bully team in Philadelphia I saw around... Schultz, Leach, Kelly…. I remember when the Flyers played CSKA (Red Army) in January 1976, I honestly felt the shame when the CSKA players walked off the ice.... If CSKA thought they were playing Philly, then Philly thought they were playing Red Army, against the sons of the winners of WW II... and they were blown away, because have not prepared themselves for the battle.... If you are afraid of your opponent, it’s time to hang up your skates. Weakest goes to the wall, indeed!
Evgeny, you are a true hockey fan and we appreciate your insight! We will pass on your comments to Mr. Clarke. Thank you for listening and we wish you the best. JC and Mogey
Not only a true hockey fan but a gentleman, friend and one with a deep appreciation of a good Calgary Redeye!
Great interview!
Thank you! And thanks for listening.
Thanks Jonathan!
Listening to this was a treat and had my week. I could listen to these stories for hours! Bob Clarke was the best Flyers player all time. Hearing Bob’s stories of who was the best player to play against was interesting. I was surprised Larry Robinson wasn’t one of the hardest defenseman to play against but Denise Potvin and Serge Savard were no surprise. Bob seems like a a genuinely nice down to earth person who would be awesome to have a beer with!
Thank you so much for the kind words. We will make sure to pass on your comments to Mr. Clarke. We appreciate your loyalty to the podcast and thanks for listening.
Wow! Fantastic Interview guys. In my opinion, Bobby Clarke is still the best team captain, team leader, and team mate the NHL has ever seen. His absolutely relentless work ethic, coupled with his insatiable thirst for victory and personal courage, was second to none. And on top of all this, he is a kind, decent, and humble being. A bobby Clarke fan, you bet I am, not only in hockey, but in life as well!!
Cliff, thank you for your kind comments. Bobby is truly a down to earth, great person. We will make sure to pass on your comments to him and thanks for listening!
