15:52 Dryden quoted Clarke as saying that Trottier was the toughest. He liked playing against Espo because you could upset him and knock him off his game. Lemaire he didn’t find that difficult. The two Doug’s (Risebrough and Jarvis) had their difficulties but Trottier was the best. 10:49 No rule in hockey that says you have to let the other guy hit you.

As a NY Ranger fan Holmgren was one of my favorite players to watch. All eyes on Holmgren when he hit the ice. I always hoped for Beck, Fotiu, or another Ranger tough to be on the ice at the same time. Holmgren carried his stick like the Reapers Sickle!!!

Big Rangers fan as well. Holmgren was a tough cookie and one of the early power forwards. He locked horns with Nick Fotiu a couple of times and if you watch a video after the handshake line once the Rangers eliminated the Flyers in 1982, it's clear the two respected one another.

There’s few players I respect more than Clarke, make no mistake, he was the general, the leader of an expansion team that won back to back cups in 74,75. It never would’ve happened without Bobby Clarke - and we probably wouldn’t have won the Summit series in 72 without him.

Greetings from the USSR! Bobby Clarke is a true sports legend, yep, he was not easy guy on the ice for each opponent, doesn’t matter it is the Club level, or National/NHL team, today he is just an example of a positive person with a wonderful sense of humor! In the USSR we didn’t like him... basically for a sports incident with Valery Kharlamov, including who, by the way, he was my favorite Soviet hockey player... But Bobby Clarke did not let down not only the Soviets - he played in the same style in the NHL... I don't really remember details the Summit 72 games, I was 10 years old, but in general the feeling was fantastic? It as like we watch the other side of the Moon in hockey - Canadian people shoulder by shoulder. And Soviets the same. United by the game! I was real sports competition, guys on the ice from both sides played the game based on non-commercial interests, battled for the homeland! This approach doesn’t exist anymore… A true captain, dedicated to his club. There, in the 70s, in NHL they had the bully team in Philadelphia I saw around... Schultz, Leach, Kelly…. I remember when the Flyers played CSKA (Red Army) in January 1976, I honestly felt the shame when the CSKA players walked off the ice.... If CSKA thought they were playing Philly, then Philly thought they were playing Red Army, against the sons of the winners of WW II... and they were blown away, because have not prepared themselves for the battle.... If you are afraid of your opponent, it’s time to hang up your skates. Weakest goes to the wall, indeed!

Listening to this was a treat and had my week. I could listen to these stories for hours! Bob Clarke was the best Flyers player all time. Hearing Bob’s stories of who was the best player to play against was interesting. I was surprised Larry Robinson wasn’t one of the hardest defenseman to play against but Denise Potvin and Serge Savard were no surprise. Bob seems like a a genuinely nice down to earth person who would be awesome to have a beer with!

Wow! Fantastic Interview guys. In my opinion, Bobby Clarke is still the best team captain, team leader, and team mate the NHL has ever seen. His absolutely relentless work ethic, coupled with his insatiable thirst for victory and personal courage, was second to none. And on top of all this, he is a kind, decent, and humble being.
