He did not insert the tool in all the way like the instructions say; which leads me to believe he just put the o-rings in there loosely as a demo of what to do. Also assuming the gas tank was empty because when I did mine, it dumped 5 gallons of gas all over my garage floor. At that point, I just removed the entire check valve assembly from the tank to make the rebuild easier. The tool was unsuccessful at removing the 1st o-ring completely and the WD-40 I sprayed in there at the beginning of my process just left the remaining bit to just rotate in it's seat with no way to remove it. The paper clip wouldn't do the trick. Wasted $ on the tool, wasted time, wasted gas, funkified my garage, ruined my shoes. This should have been a recall in my opinion. My FLHR has less than 10k miles on it. I'm seeing complete check-valves for sale online for around $34. Lesson learned.

An uneeded expensive gimmick that is NOT required to do the job, Order MC300 and use a motorcycyle lift so its easier to access. A seal pick and manual dexterity are all that is needed.

Yeah but I how do I put my own hose on it so that I don't have to pay $65 extra dollars for a foot of hose on the mc800? How come the internet searches only yield fuel pressure testing kits for automotive applications only? I don't see how they cross over so far because I had an extension auto fuel pressure testing kit and none of the pieces could be configured to test the fuel pressure of an EFI HD

WARNING: if attempting on a sportster drain your tank first as a sportster does not have a tube and you will have gas coming out even if the system isn’t pressurized. Also, order extra viton rings as they are extremely fragile and will bind then break very easily.

Huge tip Make sure all the O-ring comes out. My O-ring was absolutely brittle and came out in 10 to 15 chunks. I had one small chunk left on the bottom O-ring and I couldn’t get the new O-ring seated until that chunk fell out! Good luck that bottom O-ring is a BITCH Great basic video

Bought the tool for $100. The ORings with any age shred when you use it. I replaced the Check Valve, Regulator, fuel filter for $70. Bike wouldn't start once all the ORings were replaced. Unfortuately, the shredded ORing has traveled down into the fuel Injectors and bike didn't start. It takes 15 minutes to replace the parts using Harley original parts. I'm 6 hours and the bike still doesn't start.

I just purchased and used this tool set, and yes the 19 year old lower O-ring was brittle it came out in half, but the tool kit did come with a thin little instrument to remove any broken off bits of O-ring that were still in the Grove that worked great, the O-rings that came in the rebuild kit fit perfect in my 2003 Duece, no more leak. Thank you

This tool was a huge help. I did feel that the 2nd hook for tool B wasn't as long as what is shown in the video, but it finally did the trick. Getting the smaller o-ring into the tool correctly to put the check valve components back in took a bit of doing, but once I figured that out, it went easily. Thanks for the video, couldn't have figured it out otherwise.

  • @dr.mikedaydccme4606

I always use a syphon pump I got from autozone that you pump until the fuel starts going through it and it continues on its own. Go in through the gas cap opening. Then tilt the tank up from the rear a bit to work easier at the o-rings.

This guy makes it look a lot easier than it was for me. I guess it's easier if you do as maintenance in stead of waiting for your check valve to start leaking. It was not easy for me because my O-rings were practically disintegrated so it was a lot tougher to get the old rings out. I eventually got it done, thanks.
