I hope you enjoy this longer format full tutorial! If you do let me know in the comments, especially any parts that were particularly helpful (or otherwise). Colours and Brushes are shown throughout the video and at the end. 😊
Great work Helen! :) A relaxing cdieo to watch and I love the painting process. I like the water reflection and colors violet and green foliage.
Thanks so much 😊
You have a very soothing voice 😊. Lovely work too. I paint with acrylics also and used to do landscapes but switched to animals. Still love painting landscapes, just haven’t done it in a while.
Thalia?
Amazing art
This is so helpful. I love creating art but now it's too painful for my hands to hold a paintbrush or pencil and I felt like I've lost a part of myself. This gives me hope that I can find that peace again when creating art. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece and your technique
Thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I absolutely love Iris Scott's work, she is the most amazing finger painter! If you need inspration check her out. 😊

very nice
I know you filmed this a few years ago but thanks for this!!!
Thanks for watching!
Hi. U do say in one comment that U only use (few) retarder only for your white background. Is is the (only) secret for this blending technique ? I do ask because I've tried to copy with same colours but it didn't work. When U add every color, they all do seem humid (or fluid) like if U had some water (or retarder). Or maybe it's due to the paints brand U do use. Or maybe because your (somehow) paper palette seems wet ? Hope U'll help. Many thanks for your share
Thanks for your comment! I did only use a few drops of retarder, but the paint type you use will possibly require you to use more or less. I use a wet palette to keep my paints moist, as the lighting I use for my videos dries them out very quickly otherwise. The paint consistency should be about the same consistency of mayonnaise to give even coverage. If you give me a little more info on how it didn't work I could possibly give you more tips. Was it streaky? Dried to quickly? Sometimes stiff bristle brushes cause streaks, sometimes cheaper paints don't cover the canvas properly, sometimes the paint dries out if it's too thick, but the retarder should help a lot with this. Often it's just practice that's needed, blending is difficult to begin with but does get easier I promise!
@@IdyllicAcrylicArt First all, thanks for your reply. I've done different tries, with different brands or different brushes. I do try with small canvases (15 cm * 10 cm or 15 * 20). And I have quite all the problems U do evoke (streaks, paints dry too quickly or the opposite...). As U say, I should try and try again... to find the right way, the right colours and brushes. My main problem may be come the amount of paint I do use because they seem to not cover well the canvas (but maybe I should look at the opacity)... so when it comes the time to blend, the darkest color is more and more present. Maybe it comes from the pressure I do paint the various colours. Well (hope U do understand my french-english), I'll go on trying. And will tell U if I do succeed.
@@ftj13 keep trying. A bigger brush might help if you have one. Also use the same canvas more than once to practice, saves buying new ones each time. Good luck!
Awesome
Thank you
I want to try painting this one..... 3.10pm
Wow beautiful
Awesome painting!🎉
Thank you! 🤗
Can we take prussian blue instead of pthalo blue
yes, absolutely. Using your own colours to get a different individual painting works great! Thanks for watching 😊
Music too loud, can't hear instructions, otherwise good
Can you wet your canvas with any color as long as it's a color that blends with the colors to make it less apt to make the colors too light?
Yes you can, as long as you are happy with the way that color will influence other colors that you use. 😊
I love desert landscape so much!
Thank you so much! 😊
I'm going to guess that you are an Aries.
Not quite! I'm a Leo
@@IdyllicAcrylicArt I'm a Leo as well.
Innovative!
Nice. Thank you
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching 😊
Very cute painting
The most easiest way
Are you using a non drying agent?
In this case I wasn't, but it would certainly help 😊
Thank you
Hello wonderful artist! You created a really cool piece of art! I wish you a great sea of inspiration for creating new beautiful pieces of art! With a smile, Mr. Hi! :)
Tres aire lege les couleurs sont just wow merci🎉😊
Love this! Thank you. Great video.
You are so welcome! I'm glad it was useful. 😊

useful tips, thank you! at the moment I simply can't even afford Liquitex Basics.. They are only available online and then I need to pay shipping costs too... I'm using Pebeo Studio Acrylics or Amsterdam Standard series. They blend fairly well when a bit of water is used, or a retarder.... I also keep a little bottle to spray the canvas with, before I start blending....
Thank you, I'm so glad the video was useful. Good luck and keep practicing!
Thank you I loved your tips and tricks and the gentle touch . I look fwd to learning some more in the future with you .
Thank you so much 😊
lovely blend of colours and very natural-looking.. A good achievement which deserves a great many more views and "likes" than many other paintings I've seen on YT.
thank you so much for the lovely comment 😊
Nice 👍
Absolutely stunning. Beautifully done Blue Jay.
Thank you so much 😊
I cant wait to give this a try but in shades of blue
Those colours would look great and work really well with this technique.
Amazing work :) The realism, colors and blending are spot on. It looks like a Holiday Greeting card.
Thank you so much 😀
That was very interesting. I would like to see how you clean your brushes.😊
Thanks for watching! 😊
Awesome! Thank you so much. There are a multitude of how - to videos out there where the artist waffles on forever.. but people generally don't want that. They want a demonstration of how good results can be achieved quickly.. because we live busy lives. This looks really great, and I didn't have to sit here for hours or fast forward..😅 Can't wait to give this a go later on today. 😎👍
Thank you so much for the helpful and thoughtful comment. This really helps me to try and make the kind of videos that people want. I love feedback like this, so thank you so much for taking the time to tell me! 😊
WOW!! What a great choice of colors. I like the way the warm pink lights the snow on the ground. Everything looks soft and welcoming.
Thanks so much 😊

I’ve enjoyed this tutorial very much! I’d like to put it on a Christmas card. Did you say that you have a traceable? I couldn’t find it.
Thank you, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. There is a link in the description to my facebook page and the traceables are in the photos section. I think a Christmas card is a lovely idea!
