  I was there, a young teenager and INXS gave us the performance of a lifetime. A monumental marathon performance that just seemed to never end. I'll never forget as the sun started to go down that day Michael was lying on the stage but still singing, dripped in sweat, he had torn off his jacket and vest, the guy was so exhausted. But that's when he took 5 and the orchestra came out and got seated. When he reappeared for Never Tear Us Apart he gave every last ounce of energy to finish the set. A true rockstar! It was unusually hot for late March and people were passing out, a few bones were broken from people climbing on each other for a better view and we we're up the front thanking the security for soaking us in ice cold water. When it was over there was no silence, the atmosphere surprisingly grew everyone kept singing INXS songs on the way out. A few of us had cars parked just near the side fence and so the tapes went into the steroes, we kept going, people leaving the venue were rocking to the tracks we played and as the thousands walked by us they stopped to join. There must have been 100 people singing at my car at any one time. It was worth the flat battery! swear that night it was like all of Sydney was buzzing. Most importantly we learned alot about health care, the AIDS Epidemic and the services at St Vincent. I recall some of the staff from St Vincent's, one was a young surgeon called Victor Chang thanking us for our $21 entry fee. It wasn't just a concert is was the education of a generation and there's no one band more deserving of induction than INXS who gave us all their musical genius, pure raw talent and united tens thousands of Sydneysiders together with probably another 100,000 listening on the the radio and the telecast. I actually met Michael as a 13 year old, he was a bellboy at the Regent Hotel near The Rocks from memory. An encounter I'll never forget because he asked me what do you want to be when you grow up and I said a drummer. He told me "My name is Michael and I'm going to be a Rockstar my band is called INXS make sure you come to one of our gigs when we're famous, I'd love to hear you on the drums one day young man" Within a year he was on MTV and selling out stadiums. From a bellboy carrying our luggage to a worldwide sensation was his only path and he always knew it! RIP You bloody LEGEND!

  Hutch era uma pessoa muito feliz nessa época, dá para sentir....e pensar que depois da maldita pancada que levou tudo se transformou em pesadelo...os últimos 3 anos de vida foi a fase mais difícil da vida, que o levou a uma viagem sem volta....ele não merecia ter partido de maneira tão violenta 😢🌹🖤💔
