It's absolutely terrible what has happened to Jasper. We were just there in the middle of May and had a wonderful time. It's saddening!! I feel for the residents of Jasper and my heart goes out to them! Stay safe Ray!!

Those could have been used just the way they are as hammers. The one with the groove had a lot of work to be done if it was going to be used as an axe. The groove is usually the last thing completed after shaping, sharpening and polishing. The other could have been jammed into a hole in a handle the same way as an adze is held.
