You probably could have used the regular ESC it could take 3s. Or all my cheapos does but the sper never lasts to long.

I fitted those allixpress metal difs and drive shafts, had to print some longer swing arms and fitted adjustable links on that orange cars, those are the same as blackzon 😂😅

Good job! My advice is too use an alloy diff cover. The plastic diff cover is a weak point on a alloy diff cup.

Ive had same problems mate, Ive got the XT MK1 brushed, and it would of been cheaper and easier just to go out and buy an Arrma 3S but hey ho, a year down the line and an endless money pit Ive made it pretty bullet proof. Its been a great learning curve for my first electric rc, it now has ezerun max 10, 2x carbon centre braces, 4x Metsafil arms, which when I hit a tree on front wheel completely broke diff houseing and no damage at all to arms, now made a bracket to sit below the other brace on the front diff which also holds in and supports lower pins, seems ok up to now,,homemade aluminium skid plates front and back, extra brace on front diff houseing etc etc etc lol. For what I use it for its now an awesome truck which I love.

I have the same car on 4s. I am using an alu. Diff house and alu. Diff cap. Otherwise indeed it will not last a long time. Untill nog this seems to be working. On 4s its a beast. 🎉

Shock springs (purple) also only came on the savage 25 type ss(kit version)only. I also have the original bought new in 2003!❤

I recently acquired one of these. Im loving it so far. Haven't broken anything yet, although the motor mount screws cam loose after a 4 batery bashing session, so had just started to wear the spur gear, but i think i have caught it on time. But of course ive ordered a metal one.. qould you be interested in selling some of those 3d printed parts that you designed? Good vids otherwise. Cheers!

Also have a rear drive cup problem? Mine comes of within seconds, dispite locktite or alternatives.. i also noticed that the outer bearing of the rear gearbox housing codes out, pushing the drive up away.. Hope that its a warrenty issue.. .

Mine does the same. Just editing a video after running 4S and damaging the rear diff. I talk about shimming the rear diff pinion which will stop that bearing coming out of the plastic housing. Try buying some stainless grub screws. You should be able to do them tighter before they round off. Make sure you have a good quality Allen key.

@@M-WorKS-eu7ex i cut out some of the axle with a dremel, just enough so the grub screw cant go anywhere and everything stays in place. Added loctite as well. Bashed it and still running good.

Im curious 4 the long term results. I see a lot of power upgrades, and how to do it. But not how they run after lets day 20 ours of driving...let alone this partucular car. Is the stock motor still on it? Does it develop a lot of heat? Let us know. Greetz from holland.

Long term results... It breaks more than it should. Still stock motor. Never got too hot on 3S. Probably because it is under geared on the pinion.

Thicker diff fluid for the centre diff gets more power to the back wheels. Thicker diff oil in the front/rear diffs is down to driver preference or tuning for the best lap time.

i have 2 if thise hbx and they are perfect and bullet proof. The only thing missing and i dont know how but no one ever thought about bulding one is an adjustable motor mount to allow bigger motor pinions and increase topspeed....

Following. Was thinking about another car, but gonna upgrade my quantum. Wider, bigger wheels, smaller pinion for that as well, THICKER shock oil for the anti chassis slap and make it 4s capable. Share thoughts please if possible

Hi mate did you ever do another video on this build, I would love to know if you could print up those mounts for the centre brace. I've run 2 carbon rods from tower to tower on mine and works perfectly, but would love a centre brace, more for looks than anything else. 👍

Did the body shell just go right on the outlaw without adjustments? I have a zorro and I'm trying to find other body shell options that fit my truck lol.

Yeah the FTX Zorro body shell bolts straight to the plastic roll cage that comes on the FTX outlaw.
