    @@amalhassan09 Not all countries can travel for free to Indonesia. Citizens of ASEAN member countries, such as Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Timor Leste, are eligible for visa-free entry. Otherwise you will have to pay Visa on Arrival which is not free. It cost IDR 500,000 IDR or USD 35 or AUD 50. That is valid for 30 days. You can pay at the immigration checkpoint at the airport so bring the correct change as they only accept cash.

    There's a taxi stand in Kawaguchi station, but didn't see a lot of taxi in Chureito Pagoda. Perhaps try the taxi app such as this: apps.apple.com/us/app/go-taxi-app-for-japan/id1254341709 I never use it personally so I can't really say how they perform. Also may be the hotel willing to help you book a cab from the pagoda to where you need to go.

  • @cheesemantravel

    The machine booth definitely open 24 hours, however not sure if the staff are there 24/7 to give you the prize. The official website said: Q5. Is there a 24-hour staff at the event area? It depends on the arrival time of each flight at each airport. As a rule, you can enter the lucky draw and redeem your prize within 2 hours after the arrival of the last flight scheduled for that day. 5000.taiwan.net.tw/qa_en.html

  • @cheesemantravel
    @cheesemantravel3 ай бұрын

    Hi, are you talking about the train in Jakarta (CGK) or in Taoyuan (TPE) Taiwan? We got to the airport in Jakarta by hotel shuttle car, we didn't take the train. As for the one in Taiwan, that EVA air flight landed in Taoyuan airport at 9pm. After queueing immigration, got our luggages, bought SIM card, bought train Easycard, we hopped on the Airport MRT train at 10:20pm. We got to Taipei main station around 11pm, got to our hotel in Zhongshan at 11:45pm. It is very late but we made it. Around that time the buses and trains becoming rare so be careful. Immigration should be quick there hardly any queue, but I guess it depends on what passport you hold. One of us didn't have the chip on the passport and that's what caused us delay.

    do the rooms have showers and toilets?

  • @cheesemantravel
    @cheesemantravel3 ай бұрын

    The rooms have toilet but no shower. They have a private onsen (outside the room) which has shower shampoo soap etc. You need to book when checking-in (like tell them what time you'll be using the private onsen). The private onsen is inside the ryokan building. There's also the famous 7 public baths in Kinosaki. They have shower. Not sure about the other ryokan, but this one (Oyado Seri) gives you passes to go to the 7 public baths so no need to pay to enter the public baths.

They are also against the airfield expansion at Schwab. I have not been stationed there since 2018 but I assume the sentiments remain. The protests happen all the time whether small or large, but pretty much always peaceful and out of the way due to it being focused around the northern military bases.

  • @mrc6182
    @mrc61825 ай бұрын

    Good vid. One suggestion, however, if you have a long layover, like your 12-hour one, airport transit hotels are ridiculously expensive. Most rent for 6-hour periods, then the prices rise exponentially for every hour over that. In short, it's a far better idea to leave the airport and arrange lodging at a 4 or 5-star hotel nearby. A decently-sized room (with a window!) in the Ibis Style, a 4-Star in front of Terminal 2, is available for around $65 USD/night - and you don't incur an extra charge for staying more than six hours!

  • @cheesemantravel
    @cheesemantravel5 ай бұрын

    Thank you for yiur suggestions. That was our original plan, but one of us can't get out and leave the airport without a visa. It may be possible to get both the visa and the hotel outside... cant remember exactly the reason why we still stay inside the terminal. Anyway thanks for your comment.
