Novella Rose

Novella Rose

I decided to create tutorials for all of my literary inspired arrangements, as due to illness, I've had to close down all my selling platforms. I'm now taking the opportunity to learn all the arts and crafts which I've always wanted to try.

Weekly, I post a variety of videos documenting my creative journey. These are art and craft based, with a chatty vlog, usually every two weeks. As well as full process, no chat videos of my neurographic, zentangle and art progress.

So do subscribe if you don't want to miss out!

Your support helps to keep me motivated, especially on the days when I'm not feeling so good. Thank you!

Good morning! Wow I love your circles. Your style is developing so beautifully. I loved your dragonfly on the watercolour background. I also do neurographic art on watercolour background. So relaxing. I sometimes take it to the next level and turn them into rocks. I am so glad you are doing well. I have taken the plunge and started livestreaming. My brain cannot handle editing video, so I will just do videos live and leave it at that. I will throw you a follow with my streaming account name (starts with "Digital"). Have an awesome day and thank you again for another inspirational video!

do you know until i saw your channel i had never even heard of neurographic art and i went to medical school they never covered this at all for stroke victims. I find this interesting so thank you for making these videos i have been watching them as my own sister suffered three strokes and is uncommunicative i bought her a sketch pad and some pens and pencils and we've been watching your art videos so I am eager to see what she will create. Yesterday she said thank you for the first time in five years she uttered something other then jibberish

Using a dip pen is so satisfying. For the price you paid, you still should have not had the issues you did. I had a painted wood stem that did the same thing. I ended up getting a "speedball" starter set with the two stems and 6 nibs. It was minimally more than what you spent but the stems are all plastic, so no chance of peeling paint. I have had other nibs rust. I think it was from me leaving them in water though. Rubbing with a bit of alcohol will remove the rust. Just be sure to dry them thoroughly. Your tin will be handy to hold the nibs and you could also pop in one of those desiccant packs to make sure no moisture affects the nibs during storage. I do think investing in a set is a wonderful addition because it is very meditative and creates a completely different look and feel than regular liner markers. Awesome video as always!

Oh my those dragon flies! I have been exploring them this past week as well. Yours are beautiful! As far as your sketchbook shortage … I gave up on sketchbooks and now just buy the biggest pads I can. Then I cut them down to whatever sizes I want. Sometimes I leave them loose and sometimes I will punch them ahead of time so I can put them in a binder or other binding options. I have been so inspired by you, I have decided to start doing art livestreams. I am terrible with making videos, so I have watched others who just livestream making art so that others can join in and have a calm little art session. We will see how it goes. Thanks again!

  • @novellarose423

Thank you Lisa! I might have to resort to the binder method, thats a good idea, far better than struggling with a sub-standard sketchbook - I do like the idea of looking back on my progress in order, so that might be the way to go... I hope the livestream sessions go well!

Losing your mojo is totally relatable. It can be frustrating because we know what it feels like to have our mojo. You have inspired me so much. I know that having the channel much provide both motivation to do something and frustrations when it doesn’t come. Double edged sword for sure. As I was looking for more things to help me get my mojo back, I came across information that may be of interest to you. July is world watercolour month. The main challenge is to create a watercolour piece every day for the month. Each year a different charity is also attached to it. People can post their finished pieces to fb etc., not. It sounds like an interesting option. Anyways, don’t be disappointed about what you created, it is all more beautiful than you think. There is also beauty in being able to push on while dragging mojo along whether they want to come or not, lol.

Goodness, where to start, first of all I want to say Well aren't you the little ray of sunshine in my day. Im here in New Zealand and its Anzac day so Im still in my jammies, my email from Hobby land showed me this product and Im led down a rabbit hole of questions, and google showed me your clip! So, first things first, your voice reminded me of the great Olivia Colman! Second, what you were creating and with the product reminded me of some earrings I brought 30+ years ago during my hippie faze. Everyone always complemented my (about 1 inch, 2cm) square earrings and asked were they stained glass? No, they weren't they were plastic, kinda like a thin clear Perspex but with this product on...never seen before, and never again until today! So lastly, I want to Thank you for this, now I know yet another project Im going to get moving on and your problem solving and detailing was A+++ Awesome work, keep it up, you've inspired me and Im raring to go!

oh my goodness, I could easily comment on each and every timestamp. I laughed and was truly inspired by the entire video. I think you may be my spirit animal, lol. I too admire those who can just do "swoosh swoosh" and produce bouquets of absolute beauty in watercolour. I tried my hand at "easy flowers" last night and I am sure that my dog could do better simply walking through the paint. Ha Ha Ha. I will keep trying. I did manage to start a free 3 month trial of amazon kindle unlimited and have set up a sketch book to learn how to zentangle. I now have a book downloaded with the step by step. This will be a great use for the paper that doesn't like watercolour paints or markers. UGGG. My goal is to learn a new "tangle" every day. I love your ability to just talk about whatever comes to mind. BTW I also need a hat, lol. Thank you for the health update. I am so glad you are experiencing less brain fog. One way to get the paints to stick in their basins is to put some warm water on them enough to seep around in into the bottom to cause them to stick in place when dry. Another thing to be aware of if you continue in using watercolors, which I hope you do, is to avoid tube brands that use honey in them (like Sennellier and M. Graham) so you don't end up with a mess when they run in your kit. At least until you're ready for that. It's all a learning curve. But please do enjoy the journey!

I discovered neurographic art and love it. It truly does what they say it does. I just discovered zentangle and was really interested in creating the 3d effects. I think I have learned that the neuro art is best used when really wanting to clear my mind and calm my anxiety. zentangle is great when I want to explore new patterns that create something anyone can see and go "ah cool". I think I am going to do what you suggested and try to find zentangles that are a natural fit into my neuro art. Thank you for doing this video. Loved it.
