  One thing that I find very annoying in the Talented is that it has very effective brakes at high speed but super sluggish at low speed, so you have to get it right from the initial brake application to get a good stop. I’m happy that I’m not the only one experiencing this 😅

  It's a good middle-ground between scout and offroad. For an offroad it is light and fast but can carry goods where scouts can't.

  I just had a quick look at this, it looks decent. I drive this route and traction, along with 158s and HSTs. The 170 model is far too loud in the cab, in reality you can barely hear the engines at all from the cab (unless you have the window open). Also, the model if a phase 2 170 (425 upwards), and all the screenshots I've been seeing are phase 1 numbers, like 410 etc. Means the headlights and a few cab controls are in the wrong place. I only watched as far as Kirkcaldy, but in reality 90% of drivers start to brake at, or just after, Dunnikier Barbers which is on the street running under the train at a right angle at about 09:14.

  Hi, thanks for the comment. Always good to hear the thoughts of a real driver! This was my first shot at driving this route and the 170 so I hope I wasn't too bad! 😅 I believe the Scotrail 158 will be coming for this route later in the year too. I did open the driver window at 0:31 and the other side at 3:46 because I like to hear the exterior sound (except many old diesels which are very loud and the HST and Azuma that don't let me open the windows). That might explain why the sound is so loud in the cab. Interesting info on the model versions, I will look out for that. 👍
