How long ago i our years was the battle that started the dead marshes?

The Dead Marshes, one almost wonders what ghosts Tolkien had awakened during his life. Ghosts that had to be excised during his writhing of these stories we hold dear. There really are ghosts in this world, they live on in our hearts and memories, waiting for that opportunity to make themselves known in such unexpected ways.

If Gandalf had defeated Saruman at Isengard, Prince Theodred would not have died at the Fords of Isen and would likely have led Rohan's forces to Gondor with Elfhelm and Erkinbrand. If Gandalf had defeated Saruman he would taken the palantir to Rivendell and given it to Aragorn or Elrond. The Hobbits would have been safe in Rivendell before the Nazgul found The Shire. The Nazgul might have killed Lotho and Lobelia for the ring, hearing Baggins on the end of Sackville-Baggins they would expect them to be 'Baggins'. The Fellowship might not have been formed as they would have likely set off before the Council. Aragorn might have gone straight to Gondor or he would not be at Rivendell when Boromir arrived. The journey back to Gondor would be safer, but he would not have arrived with allies, and the Corsairs of Umbar would still attack Gondor as would another gorce so it might be almost worthless as Gondor benefits with Aragorn arriving when he did. There would be benefits and negative effects if Gandalf had defeated Saruman at Isengard.

Don't forget that Morgoth corrupted the very earth itself forever by making Morgoths ring. So maybe that had some influence in the making of the dead marshes. Ever since then Arda was diminishing. Sauron was his student trying to emulate his masters control over the seen and unseen realms. He was a meyar and the spiritual force of such a cataclysm bound the souls to Arda rather than going to the halls of the dead. A kinds purgatory on earth.

Important thing to note, to become allarith or hurakan you have to go through a ritual where you show the elemental spirits that you trust them wholly, and for allarith that often means something like being buried by a rock slide and not attempting to escape for a whole week. Lots of them die lol.

Yet even though he could visit them in dreams and speak to them telepathically at times...he deliberatly neglected to inquire about their past. He had every opportunity to discover the horrible upbringing Lorgar and others had. He had every opportunity to give them the help they needed psychologically and instill his vision properly....he just didnt give a damn. He only intervened with Lorgar because Lorgar wasnt moving as fast as the others. Then he humiliated him in front of legions and made an example of him. Telling him that he is not a god....yet wanted ppl to still worship him and nobody else regardless. "Join us or Die"... "Dont believe as we do then die" And allowed Angron and others to do far worse. The Emperor is a narcissist and a hypocrite. He created all of the issues that led to the shattering of the Imperium. The Imperial Truth is a lie and a reason to commit genocide against races-peaceful or not. I will always side with Chaos. I will always choose Abaddon.

Maybe not, but the alliances of middle-earth are nearly non existent at this point. They barely defeated him when they WERE unified. If Sauron got the ring at this point, partnered with the knowledge of how he was bested previously, none could stand against him.

Any insights in to why Sauron was hoarding mithril?
@RandomLore5Ай бұрын
There’s a few theories. One being his intention was to make Grond out of it. But that was debunked because Grond was made from black steel. Another theory that I like more is that Sauron coveted mithril much like Morgoth coveted the silmarils. He admired beauty and craftsmanship that often was associated with mithril. And the of course is the most obvious answer, which was to equipped his troops with the strongest metal in middle earth. Hard to take out orcs when you can’t penetrate their armor.
