    Have always loved Mandalay Bay and Delano. We need another casino across the street from Excalibur/Luxor/Mandalay Bay so you have more options at that end.

    I've only hung out at the Mandalay Bay, but never stayed in a room there. I am impressed that the rooms are that nice and the rest of the hotel/casino is still really nice. I first went to the MB in 2005 and it was unbelievably nice and luxurious (we ended up hanging out a bit and going to the Shark Reef, yeah - too expensive for back then too). I went to a concert at the House of Blues last year and had a great time. I'd be open to staying there... taking the tram would save a bit of walking time getting to 'center strip'. Thanks for the review and walkthrough!

    Nice price but rooms don’t even have coffee machines🤣 no hot tubs and pool isn’t even heated so closed in winter. Ok if you like paying $35 for buffets or go cheap with the hot dogs and pizza upstairs🤣 there’s a good Mexican restaurant but that’s it and it’s expensive 🤷‍♂️ bc the cafe is closed except for breakfast and lunch. if you want to pay $$$ to see the blue man group go for it🤣 beautiful view of the airport and sunsets but after exploring the shops and taking pictures in front of the Egyptian architecture there’s Nothing To Do🤷‍♂️. California’s big hotel chains will quit offering single use items in the future like shampoo and body wash soaps etc.

    Love Mandalay Bay. Have been staying there for the last 3 years (previously the Mirage was my go to). Kids are hit and miss. I think the time of year makes a difference. I go in early November and there are hardly any (Hopefully they're in school). Ri Ra is great as is the prohibition bar for a late night cocktail and music that isn't a night club.

    I stayed there about 20 years ago. It was my favorite property out of the 6 I've stayed at and that includes the Venetian. This business about it or the Rio or even the Palms being too far is not a significant factor. In Vegas I've usually done one of two things, stay on property or not stay on property. These hotels are so huge i'ts just not worth traveling back and forth to your room all day. You wake up, pack a bag and go. Every major hotel has clean bathrooms or at least they did back then and there are plenty of places for food and drink EVERYWHERE! My problem with Vegas these days is the absurd cost of everything. Why does a mixed drink have to be $40-50? You know why? Because suckers will pay for them, that's why. How can you have hotel pools with no place to sit for free? There are so many hotel rooms there on and near the strip. I often wonder how they keep all those rooms full day to day with the cost. The last time I stayed in Vegas it was at the Flamingo in 2005. I paid my bill and looked at the receipt. They charged me over $7 a day for water, not a tax, just a charge. I looked at that and I thought, "Are you freakin' kidding me?." What do you do, opt for not having running water in your room??? Yeah that's when I knew the potato was baked and I haven't been back since. God bless all of you who still find the cost tolerable.

    Great video as always Jordan. I have never stayed at Mandalay Bay, but after the con of too many kids in Mandalay Bay, I would rather stay at Delano. I have stayed at Delano several times and I love all the rooms are all suites. Yes, the location of Mandalay Bay/Delano are the main con, the entire resort amenities make up for the resort location. I usually party on Fremont Street, but stay on The Strip because I get my rooms comped.

    Everything you discussed about Mandalay Bay in this video - good and bad - is true. The standard rooms are great, that bathroom shown was fabulous! I also appreciate the variety of dining options. Mandalay Bay seems to draw conventioneers, families, couples wanting to relax farther away from the Strip, and people attending concerts and sports events on site or nearby. It is a good choice. What usually isn’t discussed are the other benefits, especially if you have a rental car. There is an outlet mall, a Smith’s grocery store and the Town Square Shopping Center within a few miles. Town Square has dining, retail, a movie theater complex and a Whole Foods. All those good things, and yet I don’t stay there. As you detailed, the location is a negative, especially if you don’t have a rental car. That’s not a dealbreaker for me: the real problem is I don’t like their casino, and I definitely don’t like the Luxor casino next door. I should like the Mandalay Bay casino because I don’t like slot machines tightly packed together, but in this case they are spaced too far apart. It feels like the space isn’t used properly. Maybe I feel that way because every time I’ve been it wasn’t busy. Overall, I prefer staying in an area where there are at least 2 hotel/casinos I like to spend time at, like Park MGM/NY-NY, Bellagio/Cosmopolitan/Planet Hollywood or Venetian/Wynn. MGM Resorts will regain control of the Mirage name and design from Hard Rock in about a year and a half: I wonder if they will rebrand and renovate, maybe add a volcano feature.

  • @ShowMeVegas
    @ShowMeVegasКүн бұрын

    It will be interesting to see if and when MGM uses that Mirage name. A new volcano would be cool but I can’t see them going to that expense. Thanks for watching!

    yup, manda bays location is its biggest drawback! dead south, but of course ..closest wok to the vegas sign so that a huge bonus..also the stigma of being the hotel with the mass shooter rifle guy! when i was at luxor in july last month i went over to the mandabay to wok around and it was pretty much dead! shark reef was sadAF..great pool complex, i was able to wok in as a free guest from luxor so that was nice!also the guests and clientelle here are rich folks not the brokeass and ghetto families who are poor like at excalibur lol ..so

    We stayed here on our final night back in May and very awesome hotel. Check in was so smooth (way better than the Flamingo! lol), the basic room was incredible and totally worth it. The pools were awesome. My wife said the exact thing you said about the wave! We were just sitting there for it. We eventually just stayed at the lazy river after lifeguards got on us about waiting (standing) for waves in a certain spot in the pool. We went to Hussongs before we headed to the airport. Totally worth it. Even though it's at the end of the strip, I think it still works out, especially if you use the trams. When we stayed at New York New York, we got around so easily; if we needed to go to anywhere on the east side, we walked across the bridge from NYNY to MGM Grand and did monorail/walk. Or across the street to Park MGM and took the tram. I think that's also why Mandalay Bay benefits. You have to have decent stuff in order to offset being a little further and it does a fantastic job.

    I’ve been to Mandalay Bay twice, and have stayed in one of those standard rooms and at Delano. Both are top-notch. Overall, Mandalay Bay is just as good, if not better, than Resorts World, out of the hotels I’ve stayed at. Slice of Vegas has the best pizza I’ve had in Vegas, or just about anywhere for that matter. I finally made it up to Foundation Room on my last trip, and the drinks were great. Stayed in a Penthouse Suite with my family Thanksgiving week last year. Pros: spacious casino, nice room, excellent restaurant lineup Cons: long waits for the elevators, VIP check-in wasn’t stellar, coffee can be hard to procure with the coffee/cocktail bar not opening some mornings and the Starbucks way out in the convention area not doing room charges, plus the INSANE $25 charge to use the gym. Definitely a quality property, but not comparable to Bellagio/Aria/Cosmo/Park MGM in service/amenities/location. I actually slightly prefer MGM Grand. Only book if the price is right.

  • @canoone1975

    @@butterbrown100 The workout situation at MB is insane, even more so for a “luxury” hotel with 4400 rooms. For free, they have the “Cardio Center,” which is basically on the level of what you’d find in an apartment complex or Courtyard Inn. Some treadmills and ellipticals, along with a sad rack of assorted dumbbells. The real gym (which is hard-sold as an upgrade when you check in at the cardio center) is in another part of the complex. It’s much nicer (though not Bellagio/Aria-level), but you have to pay $25 per visit, regardless of room/MGM status. I honestly can’t think of another hotel of this scale that charges for their gym, much less gives you a terrible gym as some sort of perverse incentive to make you pay for the real version. I’ve stayed in all MGM Strip properties other than Luxor/Excaliber, and this is the only one with a fitness center fee.

    @@ShowMeVegas It's beyond nuts. When you walk in the "regular" gym, they immediately start in with "you know there's a much better gym on property that's available for a small fee." If you ever want to read about it for kicks, just Google "Mandalay Bay workout/fitness/gym" and several Redditt threads about it will pop up. Not really sure why MGM allows a lone property to have a separate, one-off gym policy different from literally every other property they own.

    I actually like the wave pool. It puts out one big wave every 60 seconds and if you go chill over to the left side of it where the water is only about 18 inches you can just sit there and relax and the end of the wave brushes by you once every 60 seconds. Go to your local wave pool or the one at universal and all the water does is sit there and splash you in the face the whole time
