This channel will showcase live video and audio recordings from the Caffè Lena listening room. Highlights include the Caffè Lena Late Night Sessions, and selections from our archives, both historic and contemporary.
Caffè Lena offers extraordinary music in an intimate venue steeped in history. It has been in continuous operation longer than any other folk club in the USA. First opened in 1960 in Saratoga Springs NY, the Caffè's early years were entwined with the social movements of that era. Emerging artists such as Bob Dylan, The Freedom Singers, Arlo Guthrie, Emmylou Harris and Don McLean took their turn on the stage, alongside esteemed veterans such as Clarence Ashley, Mississippi John Hurt, Skip James and Pete Seeger. The venue has been called “An American Treasure” by the Library of Congress, and has received recognition from the GRAMMY Foundation for it’s contribution to American music.

Not in ours!
Love her. Trying to book her tour dates in 2024.
I love the melody, but it would be better if only she sings...too many noise on the background, not a good combination
This is the last thing she wants to hear, I'm sure....but when Crystal was on American Idol, I was DAYS sober....shaky, disoriented, depressed, dejected....and Crystal's performances were the first thing to make me feel something. It felt good, it felt sad....it FELT. I love her for that.
❤
U are great musicians. Kind regards William Mcclean
La voix, l instrument. Quel beauté 🤪
Love to Nellie!!

An amazing display of musicianship! Bravo
Doc's orchestra on the Johnny Carson is what made it special. It added a lot of class. A loss to tv viewers.
There are great musicians, they could write their own songs and it will sound powerful
13:40 music starts
Unbelievable lungs!! Remarkable!
This was one of the finest musical concerts I have ever seen -- simply amazing! It is fitting that Doc would perform his last concert with such amazing talent as these musicians. Many years ago I (when I was an active drummer) I attended a Louie Bellson drum clinic, and I remember him saying that Doc Severinsen was the most dedicated musician he had ever known. He said that Doc practiced a minimum of 3 hours a day, every day. God bless you, Doc!
You go Doc!!
Can you even believe it? 95! what the word Awesome means. I am in awe! LOL
with all this talk of age lately - here he is show age is just a number!
Always a great inspiration. He is the reason I became a trumpet player
Like so many of you, I grew up with Doc, Ed, and Johnny. Doc still has the presence and charisma he had then, and he still sounds frick'n amazing!
I can’t remember when Doc wasn’t in the thick of it. Wow still amazing
Elena Danaan, go figure :)
As self taught jazz composer, I grew up listening and learning from you NIGHTLY with Mr. Carson❗️ Due to circumstances beyond my control…… I’m just now working on my debut album at 67 years old ❗️ Hope to hire a 25 piece orchestra for recording these 20 original ballads due out Christmas 2025 so I have 18 months to get it right… … ( not enough time 👀)..lol I think I know what you would say: “ SO YOUR BEST.. IS YOUR SECRET ALONE……. SHARE YOUR SECRET……. OF LOVE ALWAYS “WITH” LOVE🕯” I WILL ALWAYS WEAR A SUIT IN YOUR HONOR SIR❗️ …….. and I’m sorry…. 97 years is not enough BRAVO MAESTRO ❗️ El amor musical de nuestra vida... y de nuestros corazones. Larga vida al líder de la banda, "THE SILVER STALLION" Thank you for fun & laughter too‼️🤪 God bless you always 🌱 🎼RAIN AGAIN 🎼
One for the road...........and make it a double. Love you Doc.
Wow. This blows my mind. I am 49 and still remember Doc on The Tonight Show. The fact that he is still this sharp and performing is absolutely astounding. An American treasure. ❤
Happy 97th birthday Doc!! You still resound brighter than ever in 2024!
Love Lee!❤

Nancy Griffith said it best : that he is our generation's Woody Guthrie. For so much of my life, his music was the soundtrack. I even got to see him live, and he signed one of my albums! There will never be another!
Bill was an absolute treasure and one of the finest songwriters to ever hit the road. We are lucky to have been one of his favorite rooms for over 50 years!
YES!
