Aircraft Insights is a collection of videos and images about all things that fly and piloting these craft. Flying is my passion, so I created this channel about aviation, flights, tips, reviews, and safety.
I am an ATP pilot with three type ratings and have logged hours in a number of aircraft from a J-3 Cub on floats to a Learjet 60. I am a continual student of the industry and always become gleeful when I slip away from the earthly bonds on wings or rotors.

Great view! It seems a nice acft to fly. Interesting to see it touching down at 104Kt and it's a very stable landing! 🛬
Perfect Video, in Brazil the callout is 70kt (CAE sop)
Muito top
Que fácil se programa el piloto automatico en el Phenom 300 , y puedes ver los datos en la pnatalla liquida de presentación , no es como en los comerciales que tienes que mirar el panelito y los números que marcan por ensima de la rondana que sostienes .
Congratulations. God Bless you both. I'm from Brazil and I'm so proud of Embraer
Fantastic cockpit. Light years ahead of Airbus, BUT why no autothrottle. Helps tremendously, especially for single pilot operations. Also, that yoke looks super tiresome. Should be a side stick.
What about your flights captain! Are you still in the business?
Jenya - Thank you for reaching out. Defiantly still in business and flying just have not had the time to shoot, edit and post lately. I would certainly like to do more in the future, it is just a matter of limited time. Stay tuned ,and until then tailwinds.
Iletsimler iyi olmalı .
Incredible aircraft. Can’t believe these are single pilot certified, have you flown it single? Seems like a massive workload for only one in the office
Thomas - Thank you for your kind comments. We did fly it single pilot but only on ferry missions. Due to the hull value and liability level, our insurance provider was not comfortable writing us a policy that allowed us to fly it single pilot with passengers on board. Due to the level of automation designed into the platform, the aircraft was very manageable single pilot, so long as you were not in a high traffic environment or had a series of failures to deal with. Whenever we went to training that was all done single pilot, so we were familiar with it.
Dash looks like it block visibility
hi from australia thank you
Just added type rating to my license. Amen!
Dang, my tower is only 100ft tall
Amazing plane and technology. My only question - why do the cockpit communications still sound like ancient tech. static, hissing, popping? You'd think in this day in age they could make communications clearer. Just curious.
"Painting a lot of ground" = tilt up.
Nice n neat!
Hearing your comments about the approach spacing & go/no-go for landing was insightful [pun intended!]. Thx for these videos!! I’m retired & live near what appears to be your Base of Ops. Small World ~ I learned to fly at SAV via Diamond Aviation in the late 1980’s.., imagine that.🇺🇸
David - Thank you for watching and your comment. It is a small world indeed. Tailwinds.
This is my home airport!!😁 Thx for this superb video..!!! BTW, not being negative, but that thing’s a Rocket 🚀..🇺🇸
Esse jato da Embraer está fazendo sucesso nos EUA México Brasil e é rumo mercado europeu e Ásia
Muito lindo desempenho dessa aeronave jatos
out of interest, when you manually disengaged the autopilot, why did you get the nose up motion initially, I would have thought it would be all trimmed out for you?
Mr. Miller - Thank you for watching and the question. Sometimes the aircraft is slightly out of trim when the autopilot comes off and that is why it is always recommended to have your hand on the control yoke prior to disengaging the autopilot. As I understand it the autopilot servos will hold a certain amount of pressure prior to commending the pitch trim computer to add trim to the horizontal stabilizer. In addition, the aircraft can also be slightly out of trim due to configuration, airspeed, or atmospheric changes. Happy flying and keep watching.
Great sandles of Zeuse! so much unnecessary yapping on short final, just let the guy fly. no value added calling out every knot of airspeed.
Landing weight 600+lbs over, did y’all just burn a little extra fuel prior to landing?
The 600+lbs over landing weight that the PNF (pilot not-flying) is referring to in our initial setup briefing is our current weight if we had to do an immediate emergency return to Savannah not our weight when we arrive at our destination. The speeds we programmed for landing are also those overweight landing speeds. All of that is done so that we are prepared for an emergency return when time is critical and the crew are under high stress and high workload. Thank you for watching and your question.
@@AircraftInsights Thanks!!!
Beautiful takeoff! The cockpit looks awesome.
I’m not a pilot so Obviously this will sound like a dumb question. While taxing I know steering is handled by a tiller in commercial aircraft (Boeing). In this video there were some turns made (on the ground) but I could visibly see all 4 hands not controlling the turn. What am I missing? Again, I’m obviously not a pilot.
Parker - Thank you for your question and for watching. In most smaller aircraft the steering is accomplished through the rudder pedals, and there is not a tiller like you might have on larger corporate aircraft and airliners.
@@chmorrisjr thank you for the answer. Mystery solved. Love the videos. Subscribing now.
Hi! I just passed by your channel. Which camera are you using? ;)
And by the way great video!
What’s it like flying right seat in a single pilot airplane?
V1 Rotate', space shuttle status
1:34 "STOLL STOOLL STOLL" lolllll
Love the crew comms. They’re really in sync with one another
That’s what I was thinking, the comms flowed so well
Boring
A phenom taking off from the home of the Gulfstream.
Must’ve been humid that day haha. Love the video!
Yes, it was a very humid day. Thank you for watching and the comments.
Could be an visual illusion but were the flaps fully retracted? The handle looked like it was in Flaps 1 setting.
The flaps are down for the landing and then retracted to the Flaps 1 setting following the landing.
@@AircraftInsights Interesting, so the flaps are not retracted all the way up on this airplane?
@@Blazingspitfire Yes, if being put to bed for the night. We were doing a quick turn and thus we set the flaps to takeoff for the next departure.
What a jet for the money and can be flown with a single pilot. Amazing!
Jeff - It is a great plane. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Embraer the best...🇧🇷👍
Best planes Best womens
great crm
Robert - Thank you for watching and your kind comment.
I saw that ballon right before touchdown and thought he was gonna go around.
Dragon Fist - Thank you for watching and commenting. I did not see the ballon that you are referring to while flying the approach. Even if I had, more than likely would have continued the landing, as hitting a ballon on short final would not inflict any real damage to the aircraft.
now thats a fucking tesla
Is that your SOP for the pilot monitoring to announce every one knot change of the airspeed down to REF in the flare? In the airline's youd be told to STFU lol. Seems annoying .
Great video, thank you for sharing
Love the 300. FBO I worked at over the summer regularly handled the last 300 to come out of the Brazilian factory. Hope to fly one someday unless I go the airline route. At any rate, awesome video!
PropWashCowboy88 - Thank you for your kind comments. The Phenom 300 is a great aircraft to fly and I am glad I had the pleasure of it doing it for a couple of years. Good luck with your career going forward and wishing you tailwinds.
Are you guys planning to sell the plane ? i love to own one!
Chad Lau We have already sold it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
At 10:10 ATC cleared you for the ILS approach but you didn't push APR on the auto pilot panel. Was that because you knew you were going to be visual and do a visual landing (in other words, you knew you were going to abort the ILS approach)? Or at 11:08 you pressed APR, captured the GS and flew the ILS since you were back in the clouds?
Ralph - Thank you for watching and commenting. Earlier when we were directed to join the localizer I armed approach. With regards to technique, the correct thing was to use NAV mode to intercept the localizer and later arm the approach when cleared for the approach.
That is one phenomenal jet.
Nice to have a copilot around. Crazy about SIMMING the 100 with G-Glass
Why do even have a FO?
David - Thank you for your question. While the aircraft is single pilot certified, most insurance companies given the high hull value and performance, require dual pilot operation. You can get single pilot insurance coverage, however the premium is almost as much as a FO annual compensation.
I was a summer intern at Epps this past summer. Not quite sure if I remember 30MN In there but I’m sure they treated you well!
Ben - Thank you for your comment. Epps is an outstanding operation and we have always received great service whenever we have been there.
1:42 hahahah dood got smacked by the plane
Why am I seeing the runway centerline to the left of the aircraft on landing ? Where should that centerline be ? You can do better.
Savagecub - Thank you for watching and your criticism. I agree that every touchdown should be on the centerline, on speed, and between the 500 and 1,000 foot mark.
