Thanks for creating such a helpful video! Your work is beautiful!
Do you have a video explaining the different types of fabrics in a collection (hero, blender, etc.) and the different arrangements of motifs in a pattern (half drops, linear, etc.)?
🪄🩵✨💨
Oh wow this is so so helpful, thank you so much!! X
Ohhh I’m so glad it was helpful! 😊
Hi, I have a question! Do you always work in an RGB canvas? I would expect CMYK to be the preferred color space (but I don’t know anything about the fabric space) Thanks!!
Can you add a textured background that also repeats in half drop to this please Mel? Thanks.
Hi Mel. Is it possible to create a textured background for a half drop repeat? Thank you.
Ur a legend thank you so much❤️
Gracias por compartir
Mel, thank you for making such a helpful, clear and concise tutorial! I have been looking all over for someone to explain how to make them, and I just found your video and am ready to make my first pattern! I appreciate the time you put into making this :D
I'm so glad it was helpful! 😊
Wow I love watching the painting process ❤
I love this! However I get lost around the 11 minute mark with all the grouping.
Really nice tutorial. Thank you for sharing. ☘
I don't understand English But you made this very easy to understand. Thank you!!
Oh that’s great! So glad it was helpful.
How would I know what size pallette to choose for creating a tea towel pattern?
Excellent, Mel! Thanks so much or these great tutorial videos.
You’re very welcome Kym
This was stressful but fun to make, thanks for another great tutorial Meg.
This is very cool, you make it look so easy! Thanks Mel!
You’re welcome ☺️
Hi Mel, thank you so much for this wonderful channel! Please, I am new here, can you share how to use paper motifs in procreate? I’d like to keep all of my pencil marks from the paper and then isolate them and use them in procreate is that possible?
Amazing. Thank you so much for the step by step process!
I didn't know Procreate had a clone tool. Thanks so much!❤
No problem!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you for the clear instructions on how to create this.
You're very welcome!
This is wonderful!
Thank you!
Hello Mel! I just have recently came across your videos and they are so inspirational! I graduated last year in graphic design and I wanted to get into pattern making! I have done it before and I enjoy it so much! I was wondering if you have a video or content that shares how you use procreate and illustrator hand and hand to make patterns. If so I would appreciate if you could point me to that content. Also, just wanted to share that you are very talented! You have a God-given talent my friend! Jesus loves you! ☺️

Thank you so much for this tutorial Mel !
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Got to minute 15 and gave up, I got the snapping understood but once you started with the grouping of layers again I was overwhelmed and it felt too hard to follow for me rn even with pausing. Maybe naming your layers would help us follow along. I’m gonna search for a more beginner friendly one then try to come back and finish this one!
Love it! Thank you very much!
Thank you Mel for this video! I learnt so much from your videos. Please make more with tips and tricks in procreate for creating patterns . ❤
Absolutely! So glad it was helpful!
Another fabulous tutorial! Thank you for including a link to your Spoonflower shop. You have so many gorgeous designs for sale there. 🎉🎉🎉
Awww thanks Anne! 🥰
Hi-im new to this - do you use RGB colours or cymk if working on procreate? I don't have procreate yet .! Thx
I work in either RGB or CYMK depending on what I'm creating for. Children's books are generally CMYK, whereas if I'm creating a pattern collection for Spoonflower, it's RGB.
I’m getting a differential when I manually enter the pixel width 1500 and height 1498, can this interfere with the designs and why can this be happening? (Help).. by the way, I love your instructional videos ❤
The save & load option is not available, why can this be?
this video is very helpful ❤ thank you
Very interesting tutorial Mel. Thank you so so much. I also would use the brush in clear mode to homogenize a bit the dark areas. What do you think?
That was so interesting. I'll be giving that a go. Thanks.
Fabulous Peta!
Thank you, this is a great and helpful tutorial!
Fabulous! So glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing Mel!
You're welcome!
Love this ❤ you're an inspiration . New sub here 😊
Ohhh...thanks so much! 😃
So beautiful ❤ love these patterns especially the blue green with orange one
Thank you!
Thank you so much! I was really admiring this effect
Awesome! So glad it was helpful.
Very nice❤❤❤
Brilliant Mel... thanks
You're welcome!
I like how the transparent linen texture changes color as it is laid over the colors below it. (e.g. it become a darker pink over the pink, a darker teal over the teal, etc.) Is it possible to get this same look in a vector format?)
I haven't been very successful in creating a brush that will do this in Illustrator like I do it in Photoshop, but you can do it using filters. I will be doing a tutorial on how to do that.
@@MelArmstrong Wonderful! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for sharing how to do this! You really make learning new techniques easy! Can’t wait to try this!
Oh...thanks for your lovely comment! Have fun trying this technique.
This is a great video Mel! Eactly what I needed to know. ✨
Fabulous Autumn!
Can you create this brush in Procreate?
Yes, you can. Tutorial in the works!! 😀
That would be greatly appreciated Mel! Love you videos can I send you my first attempt at a pattern😀
That was great and useful, thank you ❤
So happy it was useful.
brilliant! I have a question Mel: Do we need to remove the texture when send to print?Or it will print double texture?
It's really up to you and also what you're printing it on. You may not want this texture if you're printing on Linen fabric for example. But I use it in a lot of my designs and it prints well on a lot of fabric and art prints.
@@MelArmstrong Got it, thank you so much for sharing this, Mel!!! So excited to try this
this is fantastic, thanks Mel
Enjoy! I'm working on a tutorial to do this in Procreate as well.
