I had a central and left neck dissection with my TT. I was in the OR 12 hours. These are tedious surgeries requiring exceptional skill.

I had surgergy 7 years ago and for the longest it has been under 0,040. For last six months it has increased to 0,050 is that a serious thing?

My voice has never been the same since thyroid cancer surgery. It feels like a hand is around my throat pressing it. Whilst I’m fortunate to have a voice it’s somewhat difficult due to the constant pressure. The extraction sight became infected with golden staph and swelled up so much that the incision sight is obvious. I wonder if the swelling had anything to do with the damage to my voice. The surgeon also damaged my parathyroid gland. To anyone considering having this surgery I would suggest they think long and hard. Please research extensively before going forward with the total removal. What they don’t tell you is that if your body doesn’t utilise the synthetic thyroid hormones as it did your naturally produced hormones you may well experience chronic exhaustion for the remainder of your life, massive weight gains and many symptoms that are usually associated with menopause. ❤

say the doctors almost 80 percent of people have a thyroid nodule if the result of ultrasound are benign Tirads 1 nothing to worry if you have thyroid nodule that benign thy called that overgrowth of the thyroid no treatment just monitoring if the nodules change size it cause throuble swallowing ask your doctor give medicine to shrink meds are radioactive iodine if hyper if cause of hypo levothyrosine . important is the t scan monitoring every year

There's a chance of cancer developing again on the other gland so my Dr. Decided to take the whole thyroid out so I didn't have to go again in the future, potentially.

Going again would only have been the other half of the surgery. Having the whole thing taken at one time was more risky.

A nodule can be small. Why would you take out half the thyroid if the biopsy was benign? Why not just take out the tiny nodule? What happens to weight when half the thyroid is removed? Could this removal of half or all of the thyroid for a nodule make the patient dependent on thyroid medication for the rest of their life? Taking out half or all of the thyroid for a benign nodule sure sounds like doing harm which is against the Hippocratic Oath.

4 1/2 months out of having a total thyroidectomy and I lost all my singing voice and even just speaking rather than getting better seems to be more and more difficult. It is an effort to speak and the voice goes out is very horse and is not pleasant to listen to. Why does it appear to be getting even worse rather than healing and getting better ?

My family got 2cm thyroid nodule diagnosed. Heart beats normal. Doctor said not much to worry for now. So, we researched and made some hypothesis. One month later, it disappeared. What we assumed and did Leaky gut, autoimmune reaction. We did ABC. A// Stopped gluten. Stopped oatmeal. B// improved digestion, eg some ginger in meals C// Gut health and healing. Bone broth, the good one. Probiotics eg Yakult, and G-Niib. Every situation is different. FYR only.

I have a multi nodule goiter … I’ve noticed I’ve been getting choked on food, drinks and even my own spit quit often and I didn’t use to do that… I also noticed I would all of sudden take deep breath’s out of nowhere.. didn’t use to do that either.. Do you think the goiter is what is causing these problems? They put me on thyroid medicine cause my thyroid levels were little elevated… my hair is also has gotten thinner too.. I’ve also gained weight and feel tired

Just visited ENT yesterday. They will be performing this procedure, as well as a R-Thyroidectomy (my L Thyroid was removed 2 years ago). I'm not sure if this video was a good thing or a bad thing. I guess it doesn't really matter. It's going to happen, regardless of my level of disturbance. I do appreciate your clear step-by-step description of the process. How I process this information is entirely up to me.

I was recently told I have I have nautilus on my thyroid but in the last year my neck has been killing I've had a hard time swallowing probably for the last 3 or 4 years and then I ended up with my neck hurting like bad so I'm wonderif the nodules could be the problem I'm gonna go and get checked out it's been about a year since I was told and I have put it off but my neck has been hurting so bad that I can't figure it out I have never had a problem with my neck everyone to know how to From sleep but never a constant neck ache which is pretty much what What I'm experienced now and also for the last 5 years my blood pressure has been extremely high and I've always had low blood pressure they told me I have pots which is postro at the static technical cardiac syndrome but with all the issues in the nodule is I am wondering if I don't have it and maybe it's just linked to the nachos if you can answer me that would be wonderful because I need to make an appointment and I want to have a little education
