Does this lower the bearing capacity of the soil under existing foundations?
I think it would increase bearing capacity of all soil affected - think about it: would bearing capacity of quicksand or dry sand be more? Well quicksand will sink your foundations whereas dry sand not so much. So removing the water from the soil is beneficial for holding capacity in my opinion.
@@artbyrobot1 Actually a soils engineer said just the opposite and said it is something that should be done under advisement if foundations are involved.
