I’m in my late 30s and I wanted to pick up my first motorcycle. I was looking at the rebel 1100 because it’s an automatic but was afraid it might be too powerful and that I should start with a Honda 300 or 500 but now finding out theres a rain mode the DCT automatic 1100 might be the one

why not buy a standard RG, do a stage 2 on it w/cams, get some nice floorboards and grips, and spend around 35k all in, instead of 45k for the CVO?
@theinfinitrydaКүн бұрын
Then you wouldn’t get that CVO paint

@@theinfinitrydaI suppose if the color is that important to someone then yes. Other than the paint I’m not understanding why my option is not better than buying the cvo. Maybe I’m not aware of other differences between the standard and cvo model?

would love a comparison between the RG and the RG CVO (not the CVO ST). does this CVO model come with heated grips? were you getting any wind buffeting? can you hear the stereo at speeds over 55MPH? are there engine guards in the front and/or back? are they the type of guards to which highway pegs can be attached? do the saddle bags lock automatically/with pressing the key fob? or do you have to do that manually? thank you for publishing your review! helpful information!

Been riding for 38 years now! As mentioned below, ditch the dark colors. Wear light colored clothing and riding jacket. Bring drinks with electrolytes.Another trick I have learned and used for years now...Get a zippered grocery freezer bag. Get a bag of ice and put it in the zippered freezer bag. Place a small plastic cup in the freezer bag. Put your cold drinks in the bag with the ice. Place the zippered freezer bag in your hard case or hard bag and lock it up. When you ride the ice will start to melt and turn into COLD ice water. When you stop for a break, open the hard bag, retrieve the plastic cup, scoop cold water into the cup and pour it all over your head, face, chest (soak your shirt) and arms. Put your jacket back on and ride in the A/C for a while. Rinse and repeat on your next break! Works very well, even on the hottest days! I call it...The "bird bath" 😎 As for helmets, get one that has an inner visor, that way you can ride with the outer visor open to get the wind and fresh air on your face
