I came upon a child of God He was walking along the road And I asked him, "Where are you going?" And this he told me I'm going on down to Yasgur's Farm I'm gonna join in a rock and roll band I'm gonna camp out on the land I'm gonna try and get my soul free We are stardust We are golden And we've got to get ourselves Back to the garden Then can I walk beside you? I have come here to lose the smog And I feel to be a cog In something turning Well, maybe it is just the time of year Or maybe it's the time of man I don't know who I am But you know life is for learning We are stardust We are golden And we've got to get ourselves Back to the garden By the time we got to Woodstock We were half a million strong And everywhere there was song and celebration And I dreamed I saw the bombers Riding shotgun in the sky And they were turning into butterflies Above our nation We are stardust Billion year old carbon We are golden Caught in the devil's bargain And we've got to get ourselves Back to the garden

How can anyone blend such trance-like, astonishingly original music with such a hopeful/desperate, delicious vocal about the hunger for escape via heroin or death, and turn it all into dream that sounds like what I imagine heroin feels like? Jesus. Complex as a nightmare. Simple as a sigh. All in a day's work for Miss M. We're not worthy.

Absolute genius. I was only 12 when this was performed, but it brings back the hope for better things that was in the air at the time. I am not sure that the youth of today appreciate that we boomers could be allies.

This song is an absolute masterpiece. Her movements on stage are so graceful and powerful, she's dominant and in complete control of the great lineup. If could go back in time, Wembley Arena 1983 would be the place, even for this song only...👏👏👏

What a song! A lot of those girls were raped, and in some cases by a family member. The girl sent to the Launderies while her assailant boasts about his conquest to his drinking buddies on a bar stool. Ireland be not proud! 👎

An ode of beauty, dripping with heartfelt purity, celebrating a brief moment of realised harmony in love, light and insight into what could be a reality amongst us, but which passed too quickly. Like the proverbial butterfly in all its beauty, touching down lightly on each magnificent bloom, to taste each essence, before continuing its harmonious task of linking all together, like the Spirit of Blessed Gifts does before disappearing to who know where, leaving all to wonder whether it was a dream or one being born. 😊❤
