The thing with the other tests and the percentages is those tests looked at autosomal DNA, and you test from African Ancestry is a mitochondrial test...completely separate from the autosomal DNA regions. You can't really compare the two because they aren't looking at the same DNA. Apples and Oranges. The African Ancestry test is going to be far more valuable because you know that DNA came to you down the direct maternal line. I didn't know any company was out there doing this...its very cool. Congrats on your results. :)

Awesome results, Rashid! Shout out to Guinea-Bissau 🇬🇼 and Gabon 🇬🇦! My results from AncestryDNA & 23andMe were 97.2-98% Sub-Saharan and my haplogroups from the latter are L2a1f and E-M4451/E1b1a1a1c1a1c1, both of which are African in origin and rare. I took the MatriClan African Ancestry test a few months ago and found out my maternal lineage is from the Tuareg tribe living in Mali 🇲🇱 and I recently ordered the PatriClan test kit knowing that my paternal origins are traced back to Africa. Just like you, I even descended from Ramses III from the 23and Me results.

YHWH our God brought many folk together in order to make an individual living today; so, I would recommend that people embrace an attitude of inclusion rather than one of exclusion (adopting an inclusive attitude helps to diminish racism in this world age). As for being related to Ramses III, you could be directly related on the same branch of your family tree or indirectly related from a different branch on the tree (like a cousin or nephew-uncle type of relationship). I'm White & AncestryDNA believes that my mom's side had some relative(s) from North Africa while MyHeritageDNA guesstimated differently, stating Greek/Southern-Italian instead. Since then I learned that people from Greece & southern Italy introduced some agriculture into North Africa & then much later folk from North Africa invaded & ruled all or parts of Greece & southern Italy for awhile. On my dad's side my Y-DNA test showed R-BY4114 which puts King Tut (abbr) somewhere in my family tree (I'm most likely indirectly related). Although Egypt is a country in North Africa, my maternal-side North African DNA guesstimate from AncestryDNA barely touched the western border of Egypt (in the diagram it was mainly from Libya to Western Sahara); & neither AncestryDNA nor MyHeritageDNA could find any recent connection to Africa for my dad (FamilyTreeDNA traced my paternal line Y-DNA back to Cameroon; so, whether or not my line started out as White, or Black, or whatever, I & my dad - who was adopted - are considered White now, although I do tan quite well when I spend a decent amount of time outdoors). As for the slave trade, it's quite possible that a sub-Saharan tribe took prisoners from another sub-Saharan tribe & sold some or all of their prisoners into slavery (that is, they helped to supply the slave trade with folk to be enslaved abroad). And some folk of African decent were slave owners in the Americas as well - & they could re-sell or bequeth (sp?) their slaves to others if/when they wished to do so. And not all Black-mix progeny were - or are - the result of respective rapes. I've never raped anyone (& I don't intend to start either for that matter), yet I've had half a dozen Black girlfriends during my lifetime: I liked them enough & they liked me enough for us to date; & people aren't any different now than in the past in the sense that there's always some folk that like folk from other races as well as folk from their own race. I'm not denying that rape was the cause for some of the race mixing that has taken place, but I am pointing out that rape isn't always the case for such. And as vile as many crimes are, neither rape nor slave-owning is the unpardonable sin (not even murder is unforgiveable). YHWH our God is not a racist & neither should we mere men be racists (or unforgiving towards others).

This kind of B.S. sensallization of unlikely DNA matches makes me wonder if I can trust African Ancestry to do my DNA test to find my tribe. Black Americans for some reason have a need to push the idea of being a part of the royal lines of Egypt when it is a totally different part of Africa than where the slaves were taken from.

@@nikkin.9206It’s known we were here in the Americas before Columbus. Our history in the Americas didn’t start with European slavery. So let's expand our knowledge of the indigenous Ameicans who are us. Melanated people are indigenous on all continents in the world. Our emergence on the world stage is the story that is suppressed by the intruders because it keeps us mentally enslaved and exalting the oppressors.

@neffyarclark9904 Surely. There was migration and trading for thousands of years among melenated people. The navigators who helped Columbus were melanated men. The Conquistadors noted in their diaries that they saw melanated people that looked like Africans in the Americas.
