I once saw Stanley, all alone,, in a small lounge, I was the only customer. Just me and him. I had no idea who he was, other than some kid working his way through college. But I was fascinated by his play.

These guys are improvising. The pocket is a mile wide. The bass player is great. Real music. It looks like Chet wants Yandel to take a solo and he doesn’t want to.

Il love Chet, but that opening of Stanley Jordan is pure artistic channeling of something beyond this earthly plane . Saw Chet w Suzy Boggus at Carnegie Hall in the 90’s. Will never forget it. Thanks for your comment ☀️

*This is EXACTLY, whom EDDIE VANHALLEN learned the 2 hand technique from...! YET, gives no credibility to the brother whom came before him! ...It was only KARMA, that Vito Bratta came up watching Eddie, then learned his licks and improved on Eddies own technique and took it to a whole another level - right here in Eddie's haye-day, and begun a path to OUTSHINE EDDIE VANHALLEN, as Eddie STOLE Stanley Jordan's craft and PORTRADE to the world AS IF he himself came up with it - fueled by bottomless budget MOB MONEY in the music industry - so as to say it louder and faster to more folk of the world - crystalizing his name as the first to do that technique.....! ...Then of course EDDIE VANHALLEN recognized Vito Bratta doing it to him, but publically paying Eddie his respects at the same time, EDDIE NATURALLY used his political weight to have VITTO BRATTA career in music DESTROYED, during the mid 1990's, when WHITE LION was on Tour with Van Hallen, and more people, especially the ladies was checking for Vito! ..................And now you all know*

The guitarist that all guitarists want to be like. So much talent, and look at the size of his hands, god given.
I saw him in the French Quarter in the early 80's. He's arguably the best guitarist ever!

I listen to almost every genre of music and I would say there's so many subjective factors that go into an argument like this... but overall... if you quantified "the best ever" based on hey... Stanley Jordan can clearly do TONS of things with the guitar that other's can't, yet he's done everything I've seen others do... than yes. He's the best ever.
