Take the Kintetsu Line from Kyoto Station to Nara Station. To ride the Vista Car, an express ticket is required in addition to the train ticket. You can ride without a reservation. If you are not in a hurry, you do not have to take the express. Enjoy your trip in Japan!

Came across your lovely video and wish to add Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route as additional stop. My trip is DIY. May I ask whether Tateyama Tunnel Trolley Bus ticket (to snow corridor) can be purchased on the spot itself (from murodo)? Thanks 🙏

  • @TheTraveles

Thanks for your comment! Please note that the business will start from April 15th. Is the route supposed to go from Tateyama in Toyama to Murodo, pass through Kurobe Dam, and go to Kamikochi? Unless there are special circumstances, you can purchase tickets on the spot. Enjoy your trip!

@@TheTraveles thanks for your reply & heads-up on reopen date of 15/4. I plan to arrive at Osaka int’l airport taking Shinkansen Nozomi to Nagoya & bus ride thereafter to Takayama (staying here as base). Thereafter to Kamikochi (day trip)-Shirakawago (day trip)-kurobe alpine route day trip (till Murodo & back to starting point tateyama station). I am not doing round trip to Kurobe Dam (or else I hv to bring my luggage all d way throughout Kurobe tour 😂before exit at Ogizawa to Matsumoto before heading back Osaka). Pls advise if hv better travel route. May I ask in my case, should I get 5-day Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Tourist Pass. Is JR card still necessary? I still have my suica & JR card with me from my previous visits couple of years ago. My duration of stay about 8 days. Thxs for your advice in advance.
