    Can I use a screwdriver or is a drill necessary?

  • @vegasminimansion
    @vegasminimansion7 күн бұрын

    @catheyharris6039 Yes, you can use a 🪛 screwdriver to puncture the wall slightly to help the wall anchor get started. Then, use screwdriver to screw in anchor. If the anchor is not going in, that means there is hard wood, and you will need a drill to get screws in wood. Most of the time, there is only dry wall and not hard wood. You will be OK with screwdriver. Goodluck

    That steam wand! 🤢 also those are notorious for having a portafilter collar screws come loose and you have to take the entire machine apart to fix it. I just did it last week. Sometimes the gasket only solves the problem for a week or 2 before it starts to leak again and that is a tell tale sign of a loose pf collar.

    So I got it from a guy that bought it 2 or 3 years ago and he thought it was broken beyond repair as he kept blowing through gaskets. I spent about 5 hours pulling the thing apart to get to the pf collar screws. It’s a known issue but the gasket is the easiest fix until that stops working to resolve the problem. I have a profitec go so it’s not my main machine just a project machine

    It would have been better and stronger if you had installed a 2x4 across the wall into the studs. The attach the shelves to that 2x4 vs that metal strapping.

  • @vegasminimansion
    @vegasminimansion21 күн бұрын

    @brianb1599 I could have stacked them on each other. I could not do it going across because 8ft is still 8ft across. and the screws still fall in the same place. I knew this hack would work because fleximounts overhead storage brackets only hang on screws and nothing else. It's strong enough and also gets support by those hanging thick wiring from the ceiling. I know it's an eye sore but it's covered anyway by the stacked storage. I'm glad you pin- pointed that hardship that can happen. This hacked worked for me for uneven studs. That aluminum metal strip was on the studs on both sides so it. Could reach. Its not in drywall.Thanks for watching.

    @@vegasminimansion A single 2x4 across your studs, it doesnt matter where the studs are at as the 2x4 is secured to them. From there you mount the shelves to the 2x4 and you can screw them anywhere along that 2x4. If your studs were 24 O.C., you could lag the 2x4 to the them but then still place your bolts at 16 O.C.

    @brianb1599 ahhh I understand what you're saying now. Yes, I saw that example. Looks like you would have to take out all the dry wall and seem like a whole lot of work. Yes I wish the builder of this new home would have thought of this. Lol

    We planted 5 gallon trees on the back side of our pool last fall, and unfortunately while our house was under renovation they weren’t getting regular water. They started to come back this spring, but with this excessive heat, I fear we will lose them. We have increased water to 6 gallons morning & evening & I recently fertilized. Really appreciate your video… I hope we can save them ❤

    Will a gardenia survive in full sun at the moment here in Vegas

    If you're going to have a gardenia in Las Vegas. I believe mine is surviving because my backyard wall blocks most of the sun for most of the day. I don't think a gardenia can handle the Vegas sun all day only for a few hours. Under a shaded area like a big tree or under patio ceiling would be fine.

    It is normal for the Japanese blueberry tree for the leaves turn red the brown then they fall. It's normal and happens every spring. Then around August (as we speak my tree is barley starting to grow these flowers but it just little green pebbles right now) or so they will start making small flowers. I bought one April last yr and it does that as well. And reading articles online this is what they do in Spring. My wife loves it when the leaves turn red and then they fall. It looks beautiful watching the tree be mixed green and red. But yeah your tree looked like it was lacking nutrients my leaves don't look like that even when turning red they don't look like they lack nutrients or water. When they turn red they stay as big as they were when they were green and then they fall the same size. I also bought my tree from Moon Valley Nurseries but here in Texas lol

    I have a white shag rug, that has just general matting and its definitely not white in some places from foot traffic. We dont wear shoes over it but it is still dirty. Do you think a really good carpet cleaner vacuum will be sufficient to brighten up the carpet again?

  • @vegasminimansion
    @vegasminimansion3 ай бұрын

    Yes, take that shaggy rug outside, drench it down with water hose, soak it, then use carpet cleaning soap, by pouring it on rug, actually Dawn dish soap works wonders, then get a Rubber hair removal brush broom, then rake the rug slowly to agitate soap into rug, after lathering soap into rug, drench rinse the rug again with water, while soaked then use a WET VACUUM like the one I recommended in Description, you can also find them at Home Depot. Make sure it has WET FILTER. Making the rug wet and then immediately vacuum gets all the dirt out easier. Then suck all the moisture out of the carpet with the CREVICE TOOL or UTILITY TOOL that comes with vacuum. After you suck all the filth. Take your spray hose, and rinse one more time. Then vacuum again. You will have a perfect clean rug again. 😊 I will make a video on this and do my rug soon on my channel. Your not using the typical vacuum you see at Target, your shaggy strands would get stuck in rollers and also the vacuum power is not strong enough.

    As far as I know, Peroxide will discolor because it acts like a bleaching agent. Although, I could be wrong 🤔 Also, white vinegar, salt, baking soda, dish soap and water works wonders. Mix all & pour into a spray bottle. I didn’t think it would work, but OMG all my stains came out instantly! I did this on my pillows just last week. 🥰 Awesome tip though! Thx for sharing 👍

  • @vegasminimansion
    @vegasminimansion4 ай бұрын

    Thanks for watching! About the peroxide, that is good mentioning. A low grade 3 % peroxide will be fine. Almost all homes use low-grade peroxide. The important part of this video is to add heated water to the stain and try the best to extract while not spreading the stain. Using a wet vacuum is always preferable because it sucks the stain and moisture from all angles of carpet. Stains can be taken out without vacuum, but it is best.

    Since the ceiling brackets are running different then you studs so did you have to get up in. the attic and put blocking in between the ceiling studs?

  • @vegasminimansion
    @vegasminimansion4 ай бұрын

    No blocking needed. Before I made this video. My garage is a 3 car garage. So when I began my project, I thought my Wood planks "studs" would flow all in one direction. I found out later by the builder the flow of wood went in different directions to hold the living space above the garage. For that reason, it's important to use the sensor I used to find the flow direction of wood so I could find good placement for the garage storage. Other parts of the garage and my ceiling wood studs were in L patterns making it difficult. Where I placed my storage was perfect in that one spot because the studs flowed in one direction only, so I placed it there under the light. 😊

  • @vegasminimansion
    @vegasminimansion7 ай бұрын

    So right now is winter so Las Vegas law says you can only water once a week from your irrigation. I personally water once a week for only 30 minutes. My small shrubs get 1/2 gallon, big shrubs 1-2 gallons, and my big tree gets 12 gallons per watering. Yes, you can water your plants twice in that day just make sure your not over watering because those plants can get root rot because it's so cold. Cactus/Succulents will rot in winter if you water too much, cactus go dormant so only need water like once a month, just a cup of water. My winter flowers on porch in pots that they sell at Home Depot I hand water very lightly every 3 days, just a small cup of water. Hope this helps.

    Hip roofs have ceiling joists that run from outside front garage wall to the inside for about 7-8’ from outside of front garage wall so your ceiling joists will be either 16” on center or 24” on center as measured perpendicular to your front garage door wall. Then the ceiling joists will run either 16” on center the other direction so one end of your rack could have ceiling joists running one direction and the other two legs mount to ceiling joists in the other direction. Yep, very confusing. Best to get up in the attic to look at which direction your trusses or ceiling joists run.
