That was a good save. Could have been so much worse. Easy fix with some Beacon Foam Tac or Bob Smith's Foam cure. My favorite two types of glue for foam repair. If you haven't tried them you need too. It's the best.

I came to your video for battery advice, and found what I was looking for at the end. Your hunch was that the 4000mAh 6S pack is a little heavy for that plane. Thanks for the advice. I would turn off those dumb Spektrum "SMART" ESC low battery alarms. You probably already figured that out, since this video is 2 years old. The battery voltage drops significantly when you go full throttle, making it nearly impossible to set those alarms to any useful voltage limits.

  • @RCnurse

Yeah, I agree. That was when I really first started flying, and I was still learning my transmitter. It flew way better with a smaller pack. Thanks for the advice!

@@RCnurse you won't have any problem doing a flat spin with that X-Fly. It's crazy as hell and only $159 on Amazon. The EDF's are on each wing tip and they are controlled with the Rudder (there's no rudder, bank and yank) I've got to put it on a switch I'm so used to flying 3-D I can't fly without using the rudder and if you touch that rotor it'll go into a spin so fast! That EDF sounds really nice going by. For high-speed dive passes having the plane a little nose-heavy is the key to perfect ones. It dulls out the elevator making it more anemic around the center that expo and rates can't fix. It will be much smoother and consistent in the dive and the level pass. I was taught that at Horizon Hobby RC Fest by Ali Machinchy. Though I'm sure he explained it to me with much more technical reasons as to why it works. lol

Great job on the video. I have been having trouble with my EC5 connectors. They are always so hard to unplug. I have never examined the contacts to see if there was corrosion or heating issues. I just assumed that the plastic housing was the cause. After watching this I think I need to re-evaluate things. I wonder if there is a conductive lubricate that might help. I only mention this because in the electrical industry there is a product called noalox (Antioxidant Compound) reduce galling and seizing, improves conductivity and eliminates electrolysis.
