What's the difference between PRO Upgrade to Ver. 2.0 (one-time purchase) and PRO Update Pass? I'm not really sure which should I pick.
It means if u buy the 2.0 pne time purchase youll not get features from 2.x but only updates for 2.0.x which would be mostly patches. Update pass i think youll get all features past 2.0

I can understand a subscription model when it comes to streaming services for music and movies etc. Not so much for software. When i buy something I like to think I'm owning it, not renting it.
I think they should make everything in the assets free to download with the new subscription. It's such a waste to have it all there but cost a fortune to just mess around with. Many times it's hard to judge if an asset is truly going to be a value add or not before trying it out before hand.

@@SteamFocus If people upgrade to version 2, "all updates" to version 2 should be free for the entire version 2 life ( as always ). If people want extra features, then they can subscribe if they want to make constant monthly payment. It's not rocket science. They can do better and stop forcing people into subscriptions.

The only thing I don't like about this is the "updates revert to the base version" bit. I don't mind paying for the base program. I don't mind paying for feature updates. But I want to do that as a one-time purchase and never have to think about it again. Not as a subscription service. My ideal plan is this: You pay for the base program. This entitles you to free stability updates for the lifetime of the product. Then they give you the option to buy separate feature packs to add onto your base program. These feature packs are permanent additions and will never go away for the lifetime of the product. They can even release them in yearly bundles or something. That way it's sorta like a pseudo subscription. But, at the end of the day, they are gonna do a subscription because one of the biggest ways that subscriptions make money is off of people who forget to cancel and just pay without realizing it.
I don't mind paying for a good MAJOR RELEASE UPGRADE with lots of new features, but I say NO to subscriptions.
Yeah - subscriptions are a hard pill to swallow after thinking you had a lifetime deal....

They are selling you a yearly upgrade. A new video regarding this changes was released today on their utube channel. I'm not liking the changes for 1.0 users to 2.0 it's a 60$ charge to upgrade for one year until 3.0 is released the following year at an additional charge of 60$ for 2.0 to 3.0. it was mentioned that this discount is LIMITED TIME to their sale. So when that sale expires what's the price then? Full price? there is no mention of any discounts for 1.0 to 3.0... basically either spend 120 for the next 2 years or pay out the 220. *Pricing is based on ex ver. 2.0 features aren't that impressive to upgrade at release. People who will wait to see if the features are worth it down the road gunna get shafted by their limited time sale. It's going to piss off a lot of ppl. Only way there gunna soften the blow is the keep that upgrade price permanent. Or else it's gunna be a hard pill to swallow. Your basically paying for a discounted yearly subscription.
I guess y’all are too young to remember when CSP was Manga Studio in the U.S. and we had to pay for each new major release (3, 4, 5). They’re literally just reverting back to that pay model. As for the mobile users, nothing’s changing; they’ll still pay a subscription like they do now. The update pass seems to be relegated to early access to next-release features. I still believe Celsys intends to move the desktop version to subscription-only at some point, but they just learned they can’t drop that on us so suddenly.
I remember because I bought every version. This ain’t that though. You are parting a subscription to receive updates on version 2.0 not to own them. You stop paying you do not get to use said updates. Here is what I can guarantee you, much sooner than later they will end all support for version 1 and it will become obsolete on our computers. Use are being forced into a subscription model. The Great Reset authors wrote that in the new world’we Will own nothing and be happier for it’. I’m feeling something and it is not joy.
