We started our life in France, restoring an unloved Château in Normandy, and then decided to move further south to our beautiful 1865 farmer's cottage, enjoying all things rural. Join us in our everyday DIY and restoration works, come along and explore the countryside for châteaux, castles, secret corners and abandoned historic buildings. We take you to places of interest, sleepy quaint French villages - come and enjoy the much slower pace of life.
It truly is a 'Wonderful Life' in France.
Any contribution towards maintaining and hopefully enhancing our channel is very much appreciated, but never expected.
Thank you again for all your support and kind comments, and perhaps even a 'nice cup of tea' ❤

LOVE the video! With Peter carrying a pitchfork and Anna cooking while both in their favored period garb, this video reminds me of a 1930 painting by Grant Wood, entitled American Gothic. Do you know it? (Easily googled.) I live in the Upper Midwest of the US, and my ancestors on both sides of my family tree, were farmers. I have old pics of my grandfathers wearing overalls with suit jackets and stoic faces like in the painting. And hats, men always wore hats. The term, Gentleman Farmer, came to mind seeing Peter with the pitchfork and cattle. The term referred to a man whose wealth or income from other sources permitted him to farm for pleasure rather than for basic income. As you guys are interested in architecture, the farmhouse behind the farm couple in the painting is the 1880's style, Carpenter Gothic, thus the painting title.
👋👍❤️
Delicious!! Everything cooked outside is so amazing. Happy days and many happy meals.

Thank you once again. I'm enjoying these bucolic lunch times, everything about it is lovely. Sorry Anna, if cooking 'en plain air' is less than ideal.
Making good value of nature, you two😂 You need to have your own cookery book, fr melb

Why is Miss Anna using the huge knife?
It's just the sharpest knife we have, brilliant for meat !
Lovely xx
Thank you! Cheers!
Loved the Nora Batties ❤
Lovely Anna much respect working hard over a fire, I'm guessing the chickens were in the house as not to get under your feet. Enjoying it's soo relaxing. ❤️ Love you both and all the babies.
Wonderful, lazy day in late spring with the water fowl and curious cats! Let us not forget the cows. There is nothing like cooking alfresco in the countryside. Anna, your food, always look so appetizing and delicious. Thank you for letting us join in.

@@ItsaWonderfulLife2 as always xx
Lovely peaceful day with a beautiful delicious meal at the end. Thats a fine chopping board Peter. Did you make it.
Yes I believe Peter did, its light oak!
Anna used to be involved more and (verbally) in all the video's. I miss Anna as you both used to be fully involved in the videos (and speak), it was a real pleasure to watch.
Anna is just taking a back seat from being in front of the camera right now
@ItsaWonderfulLife2 ❤❤❤❤❤❤ We love Anna and understand. Peter , I will always watch you and your DYI videos.
Love these vlogs thanks for sharing ❤
"That's not a knife?" ...... "THIS is a knife!" ... lol 🗡😁
Oh yes sport!!
I didn't know that you all had cattle? Nice 💖 much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
I think it is called artistic licence ie trying to create a soft focus rustic ambiance circa 1940's with Peter looking after cattle and using an old pitchfork etc. Those will be the neighbouring farm cattle being used as extras!
@@kl5631 I was kind of thinking that but I wasn't sure that's why I asked thank you
Peter you should build an outdoor kitchen next 😁
Its on the list for a job to do!
Perfect day in the sun ..soak up that Vit D & fresh air😊 ✌
That's the plan!
Your posts are always so relaxing. Thanks for sharing this.
That looked really delicious - I could almost taste it myself. Superb cooking Anna.
Still no portable gramophone 🫤🫣🙂
Bullocks ?

Je pense que ce sont des coings? Mais pas sûre?
Oh its a walnut I think you mean!
@@ItsaWonderfulLife2 …… ah ha never thought of that…. Should of realised as Walnut trees are in loadsa places in France, my sister in Charente has some in her garden
I am really liking your new series; cooking over an open fire is challenging! Mouthwatering food though.
Glad you enjoy it!
Thank you for another lovely video. I enjoy any and all videos you post.
When did you get the herd of cattle?
thanks
