You walked on the stage as comfortable as Allyson, maybe even more so. Because you knew what was going to happen and she's just along for the ride. That alone is a skill many many of the performers don't have. That is frankly amazing. Fooling them, will come in time, I'm confident of it. My suggestion: lure them. They'll remember you. The world of magic is about theft tbh. "Good artists borrow, great artists steal"- I believe Picasso said. (But do so respectfully and make it your own. Sneak in a twist and turn the expect, then surprise them with something they can't have seen. You've got the creativity, just get the fundamentals of standard illusion down to increase your repertoire and remember it's not rhe performance, vut a game of chess with masters. The best way to win is that the game was rigged to begin with, and they'll expect that, so you already have the advantage, despite their decades of experience.

H.H. also escaped from a straight jacket upside-down at Yosemite, as I tried to watch when I was about six years old. The adults blocked my view.

I wish I had had parents that would have let me race and ride motorcycles. My Parents were in medicine.my father was a respiratory therapist who loved emergency medicine. When Arizona adopted the paramedic program like California he trained the first two classes of paramedics. After that, they were self sustaining, providing training with the first paramedics in the state and Doctors who volunteered to help. Because of his work he saw the very worst accidents people got into, and motorcycles were on the no way in hell list.

OK, now try this with an ACTUAL straitjacket. This one doesn't have the side loops or the centre strap. Anyone can pull their arms over their head and with the sleeves so loose they have to hold them in place to prevent spoiling the trick. No. You didn't fool me. Let's see you try the same with any of the ones that I have. Penn and Teller were being kind to you. They knew.

You know, I really hate escapes- they tend to either have some real loud techno music and are dark with flashing lights. Typically there’s a magician there to provide the patter whilst the assistant does the hard work. The problem with those (from an audience perspective) is I tend to feel a bit disconnected from the whole trick- the escapee doesn’t really interact with us. This was completely different- firstly you were; confident, charming, charismatic- it was a really accomplished delivery. Secondly and maybe more importantly you brought us with you by using the flashcards- it kept me invested- “why did she do the ‘card’ trick?”- that awesome and unexpected. Usually we just watch an escape and think, “oh there’s some extra key hidden somewhere” and we can be dismissive. But this was different- that was the complete package! 👍🏼

How does a fresh-faced 18 year old command the stage better than performers in their 30s and 40s who have been doing it for a decade or more? That's more magical than the actual trick, damn.

Very good performance but not to hard to figure out. Straight jacket escapes are very skill based but doable and card forces are pretty standard (granted doing it with larger cards is impressive) but her delivery was fantastic and entertaining as that on top of all of that at such a young stage shows she’ll do well.
