Bro is saying use a sawtooth for bass lines. then uses a triangle wave instead and then kills all the harmonics then re-adds some harmonics with distortion twice. then to only cut them off again. Simply could just use a sine wave and distort it to add harmonics in one go.

How do you look for phase issues? Do you use linear phase eq from fabfilter? Do you work with oscilloscope and lfo/ducking tools?
