  thank you David very kool vid. I have a band I’m thinking about moving to Austin with my girlfriend bandmate - we usually play dive bars in nyc. and record music - how is the dive bar scene in Austin. I just realized you don’t live there lol. sorry

  There are.a lot of live music venues, you might fit in along the many along the Red River District, or 6th street, or other "divey" bars include the lost well, hole in the wall, carousel lounge, sahara lounge, far out lounge, sagebrush...   Bridwell you mention almost all the restaurants in Blanco, Texas except the Mexican ones. Blanco has some great Mexican food. Also in 1826, the Mexican government granted Benjamin R. Milam a contract to settle 300 families between the Colorado and Guadalupe rivers with the only conditions being becoming Mexican citizens and no slaves. Blanco is a fantastic small town. Shelley Duvall, actress, was a famous resident in Blanco.

  My dads childhood town. Thank u for posting. This is comforting to him while in hospital. He's 96 and was completely healthy til missed dose of meds and had a stroke.

  We were living in Houston, but I would drive to Austin where my daughter was going to the University of Texas. Then we would go see her friend Annie, and stay at the grandparents' place.

  I typed Cross Roads into Google Maps. It took me to a cross roads, in Cross Roads, Tx. The way it crosses forms a pyramid (like the pyramid on the U.S. Dollar) . Above it is the Egyptian Eye, so detailed it has lashes. That is not coincidence

  Robert Lockwood Jr learned how to play the guitar from Robert Johnson. He'll tell you himself when he was alive that the crossroads story was all made up. Johnson was in love with Lockwood's mother in Lockwood was a fair bit younger and interested in music so he had Johnson teach him how to play the guitar. There's many interviews out there on this.
