Very interesting video, thank you. Is high quality Retsina worthy of bottle aging?
I'm not into Chilean Carmenere so much like Cabernet, but I liked Viu Manent
So champagne is better or wine?
I lived in Chile for 3 years. This was my favorite wine by far. Casillero del Diablo is known as good brand there. There was also a brand called Las Mulas, that I enjoyed. This is an outstanding wine and I have tell people about it whenever I can.
I'm a merlot and red blends person. But I think the best trademark in Chile is casas del bosque
Cheers Marc! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series! 🍷
It was a pleasure to meet you all and see the production facility yesterday!

Hi friends! This is going to be a great review series, especially for those of you who are just getting into wine collecting. Have questions or comments? Share here and let's discuss everything you want to know. Cheers!
another great video
i loved this Marc. how about a video on Bacchus?
Currently working in fine dining, this is big help in my training for a high elevation wine promotion we are running. Cheers!
I love Moscato, loooove
I drank one of these recently from Barba(2019) and was surprised by its complexity. It was screaming for Cured meats and cheese. Great wine for under $20!
Fantastic video!
It's better ice cold
“I have a bit of a cold.” Goes to a crowded place without a mask… smh…
I just found it from Hecht and Bannier. Sold at Natural Grocers in Boulder. Delicious and Organic!
Gasoline in wine sounds intriguingly unappealing, like someone offering a whiff of their sweaty socks. However, your description of these wines mitigates the unpleasantness. My first and only taste of Riesling was Spatelese, a sweet wine recommended by a German friend, and I found it light and pleasant. More importantly, I tasted no gasoline. That said, this review has me considering a different Riesling. Perhaps the Brooks offering.🤔 Now what to pair with it?
Thanks so much for watching! Riesling pairs well with soups, especially cream soups! If I had to pick one in this lineup, I'd recommend the Pauly Bergweiler for an excellent example of how those flavors are balanced and can work together. Be sure to let me know what you find!
Thought it was weird this was supposed to be a tasting video and there's not one frame in this video that proves you ingested it.
I was looking for Carmenere in Florida but it is not very common (Publix ex). Now, I know that I have to go directly to a Winery or a Liquor Store.
You need to do a lot more research about wines then... there is very reliable evidence that wine making started in Shiraz, Iran in at least 2500BC. Unfortunately, content creators like yourself tend to find it easier to gain followers/subscribers by just making things up that no one has heard before. Shiraz wine existed thousands of years before Australia was even discovered LOL Your explanation is misleading because you say Syrah and Shiraz are the same wine because Australians pronounced the anglicized Schiraz, meant to refer to Syrah, Shiraz. The Anglo-Saxon Schiraz is the Persian Shiraz, and the reason Shiraz and Syrah are now interchangeable is because the French started growing the same Shiraz grapes which, not having been grown in the south west Iran climate, turned out to be extremely similar to Syrah grapes. As such, nowadays, the two wines are almost identical.
I have yet to come across a gasoline smell, but have on a few occasions smelled bandaids with some wines. It definitely wasn’t from a dirty glass. Have you ever smelled that in a wine?
Yes, that antiseptic/iodine smell is common in older reds, and some fortified wines too, like Sherry. It's a very similar smell to leather, which is common in aged reds. Funny story, when I was studying through the WSET in London, the British refer to Bandaids as "Sticking Plasters," which is something that stayed with me to this day.
Hey friends! Interesting topic for this one. If you're a savvy Riesling drinker you know about this already, and if you've never experienced it before, I know you'll be running out to buy a Riesling now. What are your thoughts on the subject of TDN and petrol/gas in the wine? Share here. Thanks!
Very Nice!
Very Nice!
Very Nice!
I love Merlot; I don’t care for Cabernet. I love the soft, fruit flavors of Merlot; I don’t care for the tannins of Cabernet. Crossing the Merlot with a Cab to get the Carmenere works, but I still prefer a straight Merlot. To me, the Carmenere often tastes like a Malbec. I’ll stick with a straight Merlot or soft Malbec. Best
Everybody gets it wrong. MD DOES NOT STAND FOR MAD DOG. It stands for Mogen David. The creator of the drink in 1848.
Thank you for the video.
Amazing video!!!
Love this channel, just discovered it. Ive been stuck too long buying the same wines, its time to move on and explore new wines again.
Thanks so much for watching! Let me know if there are any specific things you'd like to lean about and I'll see what I can do to make some content about it.
I'm a fan of Lapostolle - their cabernet and their carmenère are truly lovely!
Condrieu is one of my all-time favorites. Mark is correct about the price - I've paid around $100/bottle - so I buy it for celebrations, like my birthday. Makes getting older worth the anguish.
Thanks so much for watching! I guess I could have mentioned chateau Grillet too, but I didn't want to go too deep into the thicket for new viewers. Condrieu is definitely a rare treat for special occasions. Cheers Marilyn!
Hello wine lovers! It's time to uncork something new. Ever had a Viognier before? Its one of my favorite white wines, so if you're new to this one, you've gotta check it out. Be sire to leave me your thoughts and comments here, thanks!
Back in the day, when I was in high school, 100 years ago, Mad Dog 20/20 was the butt of jokes. My friends and I used to joke about it. I don't think any of us ever tried it. It was as well thought of as "Ripple" from "Sandford and Son."
Why not just shake the wine bottle?
Try with comething like "tsrlyenaack" (stress on "e") kashtelanski". Just first letter was pretty wrong- the rest of pronouncing is pretty decent. Kudos on your research. Hope you come to Croatia and taste more. You can't even fathom how much there is to discover.
don't tell people about riesling please. and don't tell people about albariño either!
Re: Vinho Verde, does the fizz come from the minerality of the water or is it given a special treatment?
It's a byproduct of the fermentation process. They put the wine in the bottle before it's finished fermenting and the carbon dioxide creates bubbles. Much like in Champaign, only not as intense!
I recommend Garzon Pinot Noire Reserve from Garzon, Uruguay. VERY intense and fruity, with aromas reminiscent of wild flowers and red berries. It's well developed. Salúd!
I love Uruguay wines! Big fan of Tannat. Thanks for sharing.
Watching while drinking a Garzón Single Vineyard Tannat. Great channel! Salúd from Uruguay.
you also swirl the glass to read the legs, the more legs the wine has, the higher the alcohol content is....
I'm a fan of rosé - particularly Bandol from the south of France or Daou from Central California coast.
I love Bandol reds, too. Mourvedre is so intense. Thanks so much for watching!
Wonderful insight on rose wine. I normally love red wine cabarnet. Your video has literally pushed me to try rose wine too.. will definitely try one ❤
@@wine-living ❤❤
@@shrutijoshi6496 thanks so much for watching and commenting! Let me know what you purchased, and how it was!
@@wine-living so this weekend i bought this rose wine called “Camas Syrah rosé Anne de Joyeuse 2021” product of France. I liked it , will try other rose wines as well. Thanks 😊
What's up everyone! I've been a busy guy, so I'm happy to release my latest video, just in time for the warmer weather. I love rosé wine, what about you? Share your thoughts, comments and questions here. Cheers!
Moscato is a great beginner wine. A begining, a middle, and an end. I can only drink Moscato I cant get into dryer wines lol!
Love this wine been drinking it over 20year
If you turn the bottles around neat the temp control will they fit ? Why is it set so cold ? Is that all white wine in the fridge?
Just watching this brings back some bad memories.
*Thank you!* 🍷
super well put together - thanks for doing this and putting it up. Exactly what I was looking for!
One technical thing, you had said the first two required some muscle. I want to say, pumping up and down requires some 💪
