I'm hoping to change the perception of Carp from trash to trophy fish in the United States but more specifically Northwest Ohio. In the words of The American Carp Society “our goal is to raise both the awareness and the attributes of this hard fighting freshwater fish to other anglers and members of the public. It is our hope that with showing both care and stewardship of the Trophy fish ...as well as encouragement to new Anglers being introduced to the sport, that we will achieve this goal and together lead with the ongoing care and stewardship of the Trophy Carp in our US waters.” Northwest Ohio’s waters attract anglers from all over the United States in hopes of catching the prized Walleye and even the scale tipping catfish that swim the Maumee River. Northwest Ohio however has for the most part remained untouched by anglers looking to catch Carp. The Maumee River is the home of some large Carp and it is our hope that in the years to come people are traveling here to net one.

do you need the sausage gun
You do not need the sausage gun. If you don't have one, I'd suggest rolling sausages out by hand and then cutting the sausage roughly the size of boilie you want. Lastly, you'll need to roll each boilie individually by hand.
Coach...is there a link to the video with the base mix? See you on the pitch. Cheers.
Nice job coach.
Well done bro, really nice fish
Thanks Krieger 👍
Nicely done 👌
Thanks Galen
Nice fish
Thanks guys!
Nice catch
Thank you very much!
How do I stop them from spoiling?
One of the benefits of making homemade boilies is that they're fresh and free of preservatives. Because of that they do tend to go bad if not used quickly. I've had luck freezing them and then pulling them out when needed.
@@BlackSwampCarpthanks yeah I didn’t use them quickly enough. The powder mix doesn’t go bad right? Or atleast not that quick?
Sorry that I didn't see this response. Your base mix shouldn't go bad assuming you keep it in an error tight container so nothing can get to it.
Great video! Can you please tell me where you purchased your “Munch Baits”? Their website says they don't ship to the US. Thanks - Joe
Sorry that I'm just now seeing this! Our Munchbaits USA team gets our bait from Big Carp Tackle (www.bigcarptackle.com)
If you don't want to soak the corn you can use a pressure cooker.
U should still soak the corn it's much better, takes less time for cooking and corn is easier to digest for fish
@steva_nolimits if I agreed with you we'd both be wrong. The pressure cooker does what soaking does just faster.
@@610Alpha anyway only way to know if the corn is done to cut it in half and if there are no white (dry parts) it's done , and if you can relatively easily smash the kernel between ur fingers ( for hook bait corn can be harder, but for feeding corn should be as soft as possible, if not can make digestion problems for carp , bloating and sometimes death)
@@steva_nolimits agree to disagree.
I've thought about the pressure cooker option but I currently don't have one.
Crazy you got it back
I was really lucky. I thought there was no way I'd ever see it again.
I recommend you Dynamite Robin red 15mm boilies + Dudi Baits Garlic 14mm Pop up or Dynamite Sweet Tiger Nut boilies and Ngt robin red +garlic pop up.
I'll have to give them a try. Thanks for the recommendations. Love the 619 profile pic!
Very nice bro.!! #onthemunch
#onthemunch indeed! Thanks for watching.
What meat grinder do you use?
I use the Cabela's Heavy Duty Meat Grinder but any grinder will do. Thanks for watching the video. I hope it helps.
I throw Paylake dough balls that size..😂 that is until they ban me for baiting the fish
👌👌👌
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I just checked out your channel and gave it a follow. Good luck and tight lines.
What a nice guy. Well done.
Indeed! Thanks for taking a look.
just use flaked maze instead of mincing
I'll have to look into it. I believe flaked corn here in the US is significantly more expensive than whole kernel feed corn. Although it would definitely save time. Thanks for the tip!
Good stuff man!
Thank you. Just hoping to help folks out with what's working for me.
Love it❤
Thanks
Thanks for sharing this here. Normally I don't listen to much to the ACS podcast, but the bowfishing catched my attention and may be that you posted it. Almost inclined 5o suggest you do another video where you tell your story with your words and add some footage from the old days of bowfishing and the new days of modern carp fishing to it and provide some of information on the misconception. But up to you of course 😉
Do you ever use pack bait or do you freeline only? Sorry I’m a new viewer!
Thanks for watching! I really only free line when it's hot outside and the fish have moved up into the water column or if I only have enough time for a short trip. I typically use pack bait. I started out using panko breadcrumbs, jello mix and creamed corn. Now my go to is old fashioned oats, creamed corn and some prepared birdseed to add some variety when it breaks down on the bottom. My summer has been pretty busy so hopefully I'll have some time to do some longer sessions coming up. I'll definitely be using pack bait for those.
@@BlackSwampCarp also a quick question if I upload a carp video or short can I use the hashtags?
Go for it!
Nice bro!
Thanks Sam!
Looked like a great year!
It was!
Beautiful fish! I love the whole urban carp idea!
Me too! It's a blast catching fish with an Urban backdrop. You'll have to do it sometime if you haven't before. Thanks for watching!
@@BlackSwampCarp I live in central Indiana and have started fishing my local retention and runoff ponds and creeks for carp, I have only caught 3 this year but I am in love with carp fishing
I recently found your channel very nice fish my friend!

Thanks for watching Doug.
Tons of awesome fish in these public parks
I just saw your message. Sorry I missed you up in Michigan. We can connect sometime you're coming through Toledo.
Need to get up there with you this year!
We need to make it happen!
So how did you like the Rod Hutchinson rods? I was thinking about ordering two of the them.
I don't know if Rod Hutchinson is what one thinks of when you think of rods but I really like mine. I bought mine as budget options and still use them today. I've been really pleased with their performance and durability so far. Let me know what you end up going with. Tight lines out there. Thanks for stopping by and dropping a question.
Love it
Thanks...lol
Sportnya sangat bagus sekali saudaraku 👍👍

Thanks Kreiger!
Awesome catch
Thanks Doug🔥
Looks interesting
Thanks Doug!
Hehe
Thanks for watching. I'm still learning a lot when it comes to Boilie making. If you have any tips, I'm all ears.
@@BlackSwampCarp Arr Theres nothing i can tell you that isnt easily found on youtube etc, to explain my own personal bits would take an age in comments mate. I guess as ive been making my own baits now for 30 or so years, used all over the world and doing great here im Germany now too, think outside of the box, think about the digestive System of carp over any smell or sight aspect, make boilies just for you and trickle in places, do not be put off if yours dont work for a while as that can change so fast after just a few sessions at a place., Read read read online from reputable names on the subject as even im still learning now and ive done my own for so long. Hope you catch some Monsters mate. Nice to see you making vids in attempt to help others even when new yourself to it.
Pretty awesome bro. Big mouth Buffalo on top water I believe I have seen it everything now lol 😆👍👍
In your experience is it pretty rare to catch them like this? Thanks for watching Kreiger!
@@BlackSwampCarp I not sure bro. But one thing I know is not to easy to catch a BM buff. So that's pretty special.
Great catch! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Tim!
Great looking mirror! Well done
Thank you! I was lucky to capture it. Thanks for stopping by.
Pretty big catch at the end
