I decided to face the challenge and try to achieve best possible results with brush painting techniques. In this channel I want to show my results and techniques. And of course making reviews of the model kits I build. Hope you enjoy!
What kind of thinner did you use when removing the panel line filler? I try it, and it eats away the acrylic paint underneath. Amazing build!

Nice build. How long do you leave the gloss coat to dry before you apply enamel wash? I think I left mine to early so it pealed off acrylic paint underneath 😅

G'day BPM, truly outstanding work. I'm a modeller in my late 60s and for 90% of that time all my modelling was only done with a brush. Only recently did I get an airbrush; however, I still find I'm doing a lot of brushwork. Your brushwork is excellent and the overall surface finish is quite accurate. I'm ex-RAAF and I've noticed that Orions from most countries were kept extremely clean and well painted. Their smooth gloss coatings really did help with speed, fuel consumption and, most important of all, helped to protect against the harsh effects of saltwater spray. For many years our Orions were kept looking like they were almost new. The only minor flaw I found in your excellent paint job was an absence of weathering on the leading edges of the propellor blades which, again, was due to the saltwater 'mist' they had to fly through at low level 'attack' runs and harsh ocean storms. I loved the old paint schemes of the P-3Cs. In fact, painting aircraft is a bit boring these days because lots of military aircraft are just a collection of grey shades, even the Poseidons that replaced the Orions. Anyway, extremely good job and, again, proving that airbrushing isn't always superior to 'old fashioned' brushing by hand. Cheers, Bill H. Tasmania

Can this be built with gear up? And would you recommend this for a beginner
@brushpaintedmodels70864 ай бұрын
You can build any aicraft kit with gears up. I wouldn't recommend exactly this kit, because it's old, outdated, low level of detail, bad fit of air intakes.

Thx for this build. I'm back at modelling after a long break. Was a child/teen back then With not the same quality expectations. Starting back with 1/72 for a restart, but as you show nice results brush only (dont want all the faff about airbrushes) I'm confident that after a few shitty model (first one is absolutely awfull 😅) I'll be able to do a convincing 1/48 of my favorites aricrafts. Thanks again for the sharing. Looking forward for new videos

Gorgeous, sir. As I am moving into a smaller home my rattle can painting will have to cease. Watching your builds and learning brush painting. Question: The Vallejo "Model Air" paints...do they require a 50/50 paint to thinner mix? I have the Gray Scheme US Fighter paint set which is all of the airbrush paints...
@brushpaintedmodels70864 ай бұрын
No. You can apply them straigth from the bottle. Anyway, if you feel they are still too thick, and not leveling out nicely, you can add some thinner of course.

Beautifully done. I have been trying to get “airbrush-like” finishes and weathering w brushwork for a few years now but end up always a little disappointed. Is there a best paint for using brush or best brush type? I have been using model masters enamel and also acrylic, thinning it down, weathering over gloss coat, dry brushing, and trying to pre shade/post shade to achieve the weathered paint look but my weathering still seems more “brush splotchy” on close examinations suggestions?

Amig is the worst acrylic paint for brush painting I have come across so far. It shrinks, and creates a lot of small dots on the surface. It is probably airbrush optimized.
