thank you so much, i have kind of spiral curls and my hair is long but turns to straight at the ends. i think i may be detangling my hair too roughly. and maybe i could try a serum too!
Would hammock diffusing be the same as putting your hair on a flat surface
Thoughts on dry shampoos and hair powders?? I only see straight hair people using them really…? I’m in a major experimental hair phase right now😂
Awesome ❤
Great, Great video! Thank you! You know, I have very difficult hair and living in Puerto Rico doesn't help. But I remembered before all the new products and sulfate free etc etc, I used to use a gel but I just forgot about it. I recently bought it again and the results were FANTASTIC. It's Paul Mitchell's Styling glaze. I saw hardly any frizz. I did have to reapply the day after only on my very dry side (I have a few textures on my hair 🙄) but after that it lasted almost all week and I used just dabs of water. Hardly NO FRIZZ and my hair never felt dried out! Have you ever heard of that one? (you can only buy it at salons) If you know about it, let me know what you think. I wouldn't want my hair to get messed up in the long run because of this or that ingredient. Thank you again Gena! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’d love to see a review of OlaPlex clarifying shampoo
I’d love to see a review of OlaPlex clarifying shampoo
Love your videos and the way you present them. With the massive amount of information out there you make it easy to understand. I would love to see you do a review of the following products: Virtue de-frizzing and strengthening, curl defining gel. Luv ur curls system including shampoo, conditioner, all in one curl cream, and Irish Sea moss gel in the black bottle.
It would be really cool if you could add the same categories that are on your pdf graph to the pull down menu when searching for products that say have "Strong Hold" or "Medium moisture". Thank you as always for the good info.
Advice please! I'm going to Disney world (US) for 10 days and therefore alot of waterparks so my hair is gonna see alot of salt sun and chlorine - any products you gals recommend to help combat these aside scarves? I have 2C curls, thin hair but high density, struggle with volume and curl definition so looking for lightweight products, strong hold and anything that'll thicken my hair too!! I live in the UK so not sure how my hair will react to US weather!
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV
Would this help covering crown cowlick for low density wavy hair? I am tired of applying black eye shadow in mini bald area , lol
Clear and informative video 🙌🏻
That’s the biggest diffuser I have ever seen!
Since i have so much hair and also long. Shark hair dryer work great for me.
Thank you so much for slowly going through the process. The curl Smith looked amazing on you. My hair is just like your hair so you give me things to try to make my curls as beautiful as yours 😊
There's always one thing about a self tanner that you don't like lol I get that a lot. I'm fair skinned and the ultra dark actually worked for me! So, just wanna ask these questions: Should I apply moisturizer on my knees, elbows, ankles? Will the tanning stuff transfer on my sheets? (they're white too) I'm very tempted to try sleeping in it. Thanks for all the detailed info about this self tanner.
Hi Gena! Thanks for this diffusing video, I am definitely gonna try it! I just want to ask you something about your styling, when you say you style damp, exactly how much water is still in your hair? Is there still a little squish sound or is it completely damp? Sorry if its a weird question, but I have very fine 2b/2c waves and really struggle to find the "right" amount of water to style.. my hair holds on to moisture like crazy and takes forever to dry, although it's fine..🤦 I think your method could work for me, I can only hope!😊
love the curls
The clips!! OMG. My hair gets lots of volume in the humidity, but the crown tends to flatten from the weight. I'm trying this tomorrow!
I love that you break down ingredients. Can you do a series while focusing on some key ingredients and what they do - pvp, ingredients that cause slip, flexibility vs hold? I’d love to learn how to read the ingredients before buying.
Finally someone who says it. The white label one was horrible with absolutely ZERO hold
could you address some techniques that people with shorter hair can use both for styling and diffusing? for example if i'm upside-down I can't see what I'm doing. My hair is just below collar bone when stretched
This is what I find most confusing about prepping curly hair, especially the brushing part. I got a Denman brush, but I always see videos where people twirl it around the brush handle, and I can't do it to save my life. 😂 More product and more practice, I guess.
Thank you ❤️
This is incredibly helpful! Thank you so much! 😊
I was gifted my Dyson and I love it! Would I go out and buy it…absolutely not! Not at that price point! No hair dryer is worth that much! I’d probably opt for the Curlsmith dryer but as I live in Canada and the cost of the $ exchange plus the shipping that would be a lot more than $189!
Can you do the earthling bar shampoo and condictioners?. Thx
I’ve never heard of that one but I do love The Vida Bars. ❤
3A curls as a toddler, 4A as a kid, currently in my 18-24 stage of life- my hair covers the entire spectrum. My hair is straight, it is curly, it is kinky, and it is wavy. There is no heat damage & there isn't any product in it to weigh it down. My hair texture is very odd, and the more I grow it out, the more it seems to just do what it feels like doing. I'm very mixed, though, I just look light-brown from the outside. My hair genetics are just becoming a handful because instead of choosing one, it's opted to take every ethicity I'm mixed with & slapped it on top of my scalp. I like it because it's unique, but I can't go to hairdressers because they can never give me a style I'm comfortable with having. It's always 'just' ok (imo, as everyone else is always amazed & asks me who did my hair; very annoying). Does anyone else have these wildly varied hair textures? How do you manage it? I can't deal with this nest on my head. 🥲
There really needs to be a few more aussie videos cause i can never get this stuff here haha or it costs an organ to get shipped here im having suchhh a hard time 2ith hair id love to go to a curly professional but living is too expensive i cant afford it yet😭
Wow. Never thought of having hair against a surface cuz I always use my hands to do what you’re doing with counter. Can you give me your opinion of the two curl dryer’s I would like to know the difference between the travel and and the originals.thanks Gina appreciate you
The travel one folds and is smaller. All the settings and temps are the same. It has a dual plug option for traveling. It's much easier because not as bulky. The diffuser is 6" rather than 8". That difference is OK except that I found the wind speed was stronger so blows the hair around more. I think this is because there's less air dispersion. I do as Gena and swavy Curly Courtney do and use the travel dryer with the 8" diffuser from the full size. Best of both worlds. Gena shows the full size in this video. I was able to get a good deal from ebay for the full size so I could get the big diffuser. I wish they'd sell the diffusers separate as they are interchangeable.
Thank you so much. Do appreciate you telling me this. There really is some difference between the two dryers. Just don’t know which one is better to get. I usually don’t bow dry but just now learning it’s not always good to air dry. There so much that goes into hair. Always learning something new. Thank you.
Any tips for diffusing with a bad neck? I can on tip my head upside down or side/side so long to diffuse until my neck hurts too much. My hair is thinner but very long curls
Edit: I lay my hair dryer on the sofa cushion, sit on the floor with my back to the sofa, and plop my hair on a hair towel laid out on the sofa cushion and turn on the diffuser. I move the diffuser get all different angles, and turn my head side to side gently to side. (I stack 2 sofa cushions to get the right height for me and my short hair.) Bad neck here👋 My hair is short, and it just barely touches my shoulders, but I have a few tips that may help. I'm trying to figure out how to explain them, so I'll add an edit to this in a bit.
I’ve actually been dealing with some nerve issues and neck pain which often get flared up on wash day lol. I find diffusing side to side and bending at the waist helps versus only tilting my head. The Curlsmith dryer also has a kickstand which I use when upside down so I don’t have to hold it
I have always heard that it is not a good idea to brush curly hair. So this is ok now? Also I have heard that glycerin will pull the moisture from humidity into your hair and cause frizz. Do you find otherwise?
Do you have a cheaper dryer/defussor toys recommend?
She has a video where she tries different dryers. This one now has a travel size too btw.
The Curlsmith Defrizzion Dryer is da 💣 and worth every penny!
curly hair is so cool like i have heard both you and swavy curly courtney talk about how spiralicious is a hard hold gel and it is ABSOLUTELY light hold for me lmao gotta love how everyone is so different!
Thank you ❤
I don't use leave in, use the heat shield then creme then gel. Is that ok?
Yep! That’s what I usually do too
Another 5 star plus for you! You keep refining and refining until i personally can give it another try. Thanks so much.
Thank you!
I just received the Curlsmith dryer/diffuser after seeing one of your videos demonstrating it. I got it for the huge diffuser, but also for the lower heat to hopefully allow me to dry my hair more often without frying it. Thanks so much for the informative videos!
I hope you love it!
