  I’ve had one in for 7 weeks now.. back in another 7-8 weeks for another x-ray to see how far on the bones are healing.. how’s your recovery going? It’s crazy that your hand is just stuck solid from the plate and there’s no moving it.. fingers and thumb are working ok but can’t make a fist as the tendons are stretched over the plate for the two fingers nearest the thumb.. it’s grim

  I didn't want to watch videos like this before my surgery, but now, some months later, this video is really helpful in understanding my recovery. Thanks to the surgeons and physios I can move my arm further than they first anticipated.

  00:26 EXACTLY ME RIGHT NOW!! Same! Just about 3 weeks ago. Broke medial malleolus and fibula about 4-5 inches below the knee. Also have more pain on the lateral malleolus then the actual broken medial malleolus but no break according to xray. Doctor is certain I tore up some ligaments on that side which is why it hurts even more on the non broke side. The E.R had only saw I broke my ankle but didn’t see fibula was broke. Made much more sense when I learned that because the amount of CRUNCHING I felt when it happened seemed abnormal for it all to be from a single broken medial malleolus lol. I just started being able to hobble around on it with a boot on and without crutches yesterday
