  Hey... I have a 2021 GLE 450 4MATIC with factory towing package. I have to tow a 19' regal 1900esx (approx. 3500lb dry) with trailer I should be about 4500. I have a few questions but I have no friends that tow to ask. 1. Do I need a brake controller? 2. I've read the tongue weight rating on the hitch is 600lb, would that be an issue? 3. I'm assuming I need a ball mount with a rise and not a drop right?

  Yes you definitely will want a rise hitch. Trailer and boat manufacturers try to keep telling me 10% of whatever the Trailer and Boat weight is , so yours should be around 450 pounds . That will be no issue. Some trailers use hydraulic brakes if yours takes brake fluid and has a cylinder upfront then you will not need a brake controller. I’ve towed a few things that didn’t have brakes that were the same weight and the car didn’t have any trouble so that’s kind of up to you.

  Got 10kw of batteries just to keep my gas furnace going for a few days if Grid goes down, but could add another of them Growatt and got another 1kw on panels I could add to charge a car with 240v if this 2kw system pans out and find an EV that does not cost a small house.

  @@saman-xv1xj i dont like how the gle looks. its very round and bloated looking, not luxuriously styled at all. the x5 looks sharp, handsome, aggressive yet subtle. interior quality is also far better in the x5. the gle is infamous for creaks/rattles, peeling, general qc issues. the x5/6/7 are built like tanks. for the same price as a gle450 i was getting an x5 which drives better, looks better, has better build quality, has a significantly better powertrain, has better technology, is sportier yet is also more comfortable. the choice was obvious to me.

  @@smar1208 Our GLE450 definitely had better quality than any x5 - x6 out there even the amg gle has a way better performance, looks ,and way more luxurious than the x5-x6 in my opinion the new x5 is definitely not more luxurious than the gle with that big screen on it shame that they got rid of the physical buttons. And I’ve been in both and the gle is also fast like the x5 handles amazingly and the tech is great, still in my opinion x5 doesn’t look good and luxurious as the x5, and same with the interior, and my family went with a fully loaded gle450.
