    There are lots of people who will kill your baby for you. Everyone has the right to refuse without being fired. This also applies to elective surgery. A surgeon can deny you treatment if they feel like it would be a detriment to you or goes against their morals. I.e. breast implants that weigh 20lbs/ea.

    Is the world falling apart or in to place? Depends on who you serve. Who is your master? I ask you to rethink what you know about God. Rethink what you've been taught. God wants a relationship, not a religion. - Jesus came for all mankind ... not select groups - Jesus came to bring salvation ... not condemnation. - Jesus came to be an example .. not an imaginary construct If you are reading this Post Rapture: Rev 14:6 - And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Rev 14:7 - Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Pre Rapture: Mark 16:15 - And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. - You've broken 1 of the 10 commandments and are guilty of sin if you've ever lied, or stolen, or lusted. Works of righteousness will not save you. Jesus Christ is the only way. Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 1. Humble yourself before the Lord 2. Admit to the breaking of His laws as found in the 10 commandments 3. Ask for His forgiveness for those sins 4. By faith, believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins 5. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Savior 6. By faith, believe Jesus rose from the dead 7. Receive the gift of salvation and the Holy Spirit will fill you

    What? A person doesn't want to serve me or provide a service that they find to be immoral? How dare they right? Maybe we should threaten them with jail time until they decide to do what we want them to do. To hell with their freedom! Let's coerce them into providing that service that they find to be immoral! Any rational, reasonable fellow would do the same thing right? After all chemists are well known for being religious, in fact all of them are, ALL chemists refuse to provide certain services so we need to make them provide these services! We can't just go to another chemist, that's too much effort!

    Right, so if someone walks off the street into a bakery that advertises wedding cakes and wishes to purchase such a cake that's immoral (depending on what's written on the cake) but the baker discriminating against a customer is moral. And if someone walks off the street into a pharmacy that advertises itself as fulfilling prescription and wishes to have a prescription issued by a doctor, fulfilled, that's immoral (depending on what drug is being prescribed) but the pharmacist thinking he/she can trump the decision of a consulting doctor and thus discriminating against a customer, is moral. You see, this is why the ardent Christian is today both mentally and morally derailed.

  • @catholicphoenix7969
    @catholicphoenix79694 жыл бұрын

    @@gladishilton1943 There's nothing immoral about wanting to buy medicine or request the baking of cakes. I don't recall ever saying that so please tell me where you get that idea from. However a person refusing service when service isn't owed is a legitimate stance. After all the enforced baking of a cake is in fact involuntary servitude as is making someone sell a drug they don't want to sell. My issue is that forcing someone to use their labour in a way that actively opposes their moral values is a violation of that person. I didn't think that to be a value isolated to ardent christian values and it certainly doesn't imply mental derailment.

    @@catholicphoenix7969 I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth, I was just describing the situation from the perspective of a 3rd party neither associated with the BAKER nor the Customer to highlights that reluctance to serve on religious grounds invokes DISCRIMINATION of a customer because the party on the other side of the counter is not asking the BAKER to do anything else apart from what he/she has voluntarily gone into business to do and which they attracted the customer to them on the basis of their advertisement as a BAKERY THAT BAKES CAKES. Furthermore, I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth, I was just describing the situation from the perspective of a 3rd party neither associated with the PHARMACIST nor the Customer to highlights that the reluctance to serve on religious grounds invokes DISCRIMINATION of a customer because the party on the other side of the counter is not asking the PHARMACIST to do anything else apart from what he/she has voluntarily gone into business to do and which they attracted the customer to them on the basis of their advertisement as a PHARMACY FULFILLING PRESCRIPTIONS...though in this case the pharmacist may also be answerable to a charge of MALPRACTICE. Service is in fact due by the BAKER and the PHARMACIST through how they represent themselves as BAKERS and PHARMACISTS. But I have an easy fix. Perhaps we should mandate that prominent signage like the health warnings found on a packet of cigarettes be displayed by any businesses that wishes to impose their religious ideologies on how they deal with customers. This way there are no false representations being made and no unrealistic expectations harbored by the community. BAKERY - Not serving HOMOSEXUALS or members of the LGTBI community. PHARMACIST - Dispensing only drugs and medical products in accordance with Christian values and teachings. Sound reasonable?

    @@gladishilton1943 I agree the fix in your last paragraph maybe not the first two but I want to be positive here. What you suggest is a further than just reasonable, I'd say that it's great compromise and is fair on all sides whilst requiring no violations towards anyone. Companies should be honest and open with their customers. If a business does not want to provide a service to specific persons or refuse to provide a specific service then they should be transparent about that if their representation does not imply said exclusion. I'm glad that we could find common ground.

    Pharmacy is a profession established by scientific knowledge. It is a branch of medicine and as such, a pharmacist is employed to practice this branch of medicine soundly. Since no branch or element of Medicine hinges on religious belief, a pharmacist when acting in the capacity of a pharmacist has no right to compromise his practice with extraneous thoughts such as religious views or convictions. The moment a pharmacist allows this to happen he/she becomes a danger to the client/patient and should necessarily be barred from practice. It's pretty black and white. We can also view this debate in terms of rights and freedoms and arrive at the same conclusion: One might argue that the pharmacist is an individual and an individual should always have the right to choose whether to do, or not do something. Well that is not entirely true. If the individual exercise such rights whilst acting in the capacity of a pharmacist then his/her actions may be detrimental to the person that came to them based on the representation they made of being a pharmacist. Both the Law and commonsense must place restrictions on such choices and actions which have real life consequences. To choose to withhold pharmaceutical services for any reason other than for sound medical or pharmaceutical reasons - in other words, not practicing sound pharmacy - potentially harms the individual who sought pharmaceutical services in two ways - as a civil matter the pharmacist is potentially guilty of misrepresentation and discrimination. - both prohibited by law. But perhaps more importantly, the pharmacist may potentially cause medical harm to the individual - yes you can inflict harm by inaction. Therefore, if an individual wishes to retain the right to enact his/her religious beliefs at any and all times without the potential of harming others, that individual should choose a different occupation - one which permits or tolerates you acting like a fool - perhaps they should get a job as a church chorister.

    No private enterprise or privately employed person can be legally compelled to provide specific goods or services. Doctors do take an oath ... but given that most doctors already refuse to perform certain procedures on quasi-moral grounds (circumcision), that oath is apparently flexible. If we don't protect the right of businesses to conduct their business as they see fit, we are lost. And having seen plenty of footage of people wearing MAGA hats being refused service, I think we can safely assume that Progressives are just as determined to retain that right.

  • @gladishilton1943
    @gladishilton19434 жыл бұрын

    Circumcision is an entirely unnecessary medical procedure. It is interference with a young body, requested typically on religious grounds, not genuine medical need. Given that any medical procedure comes with an associated risk, it seems like sound medical practice to avoid such unnecessary medical interventions. Even if a doctor was to refuse on the grounds of personal views there is no issue because his actions continue to conform with sound medical practice.

I can also agree that Christianity is suffering the most decline because it is considerably more enlightened than hard-line authoritarian and dictatorial Islam. And as Christianity declines, Islam may enjoy an increase in "market share" so to speak, however I think this would be a transient phenomenon. As science advances and educates the masses with it's discoveries, its ideas will inevitably spread and take root even within the strong holds of the most fanatical religious communities - as long as people with skeptical and questioning minds exist within though groups.
