We just went to Aomori in June and had our lunch at the Art Hotel. Food was fantastic. A factory is a great place to explore. Too bad that we did not have much time.

Theres also gyukaku in my country but their standard buffet was not as complete as what you have shown, they dont serve the harami only karubi, the price is around $18 per person

You guys still have Coco's? The Coco's in the US was ruined by some guy who bought the chain for his cheapskate son and brought the whole chain down. In the US, Big Boy is known as Bob's Big Boy and the one closest to me closed down, I don't think the chain is doing too well either.

Big Boy is closing in southern California. It's still good. But I think a private equity firm got hold of it and is stripping the assets.

Of these US restaurants, Denny’s is still open across the country; Big Boy has many locations in Michigan, a few in California; Coco’s closed in the USA in 2015. One thing I know, the next time I make hamburger steak, I’m going to be sure I have plenty of grated daikon & dipping sauce to go with!

I've been to the Denny's in Funabori, but they didn't have a robot. Or maybe the robot was off that night. It was really good, and better than the Denny's near me in the DC Metro area. As for Big Boy, I haven't seen those since I was a young boy! I'm surprised Royal Host wasn't in this video, since it seems like all of the other Japanese youtubers I follow, who do some food content, always mention how great that place is. Maybe next time.

Have all three "Chains" in my area....Grand Slam or Moons Over my Hammy at Denny's, Coco's for a cheeseburger and a slice of pie and Big Boy for the Big Boy "Combo" and a vanilla shake. I did find your choices a bit more exciting etc. Thanks for sharing!

IHOP previously operated in Japan, until closing in 2001. In 2023, I read business news reports which indicated IHOP was interested in re-entering the Japanese market, but there haven't been any further developments yet.

@@flibblesan No grand slam at the Akihabara location in the Washington Hotel in 2018. While they did have fried eggs on the menu, I didn't want the type of sausage on offer. No pancakes except as an extra. The picture was helpful as they probably wouldn't have met my expectations especially the type of table syrup. I ended up with an egg salad sandwich, small salad and green tea (that I actually wanted). Although the food is different, I'd rate the overall experience of that place and the U.S. as similar.

In addition, the typical monthly salary in Japan is 15-20% less than the equivalent salary in the U.S, and consumer prices are structured to reflect that. Also, tipping is not typically required at restaurants in Japan.

First time hearing about Coco's. Denny's was always for breakfast starring the Grand Slam or a club sandwich. Bob's Big Boy had a burger or turkey dinner and watermelon in the summertime. Both Denny's and Bob's Big Boy have closed in this area for many years so seeing them brought back great memories ❤️

Coco's was a big chain in California and Arizona before Applebee's. They were really hit & miss from store to store and from something like 200 stores they now have a total of 10 in So Cal and Arizona.
