    When I was in kindergarten, we lived across the street from a convenience store and it was always a special treat if we got to get jojos, that's what we call potato wedges where I live. We always ate them with sour cream but adding sweet chili sauce sounds really good.

    The wedges looked great! I’m not much of a wedge eater (not in my regular rotation) but when I was living in Indonesia (almost 20 years ago) I really struggled with food, being vegetarian and feeling sick and being pregnant. Most of the food was too greasy or had all the same flavour (in the city I was living in). I really craved fresh veg and plain foods like good bread, baked etc. I didn’t have my own kitchen or much time to prepare food as I was working full-time. So curious if you eat mostly Korean food or you cook more plain western food at home too. How do you go eating when you were pregnant or when you feel sick. Do you have comfort foods?

    I'm korean who's been living in Australia for a long time and didn't know that it's particularly Aussie thing to have sourcream and sweet chilli sauce with wedges. 😂 And my Aussie husband didn't know that either. He says it's synonymous with a pob meal for some reason. And your kids are so cute. A boy and a girl. So perfect.

  • @mahadewiiii
    @mahadewiiiiКүн бұрын

    Yeah I’m Aussie and it’s definitely not a regular food in my rotation either. I’ve probably had it less than 20 times in my 41 years of life! 😅 I’ve mostly had it from a bakery in our town that lots of students and workers go to at lunch. Wedges are like a food you could get at food courts or something. I’m definitely more of a chips with gravy girl! 😅

    I need to make myself some potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chili sauce asap. I'll make a dip for my french fries with sweet chili sauce and ranch (midwest USA, it's our staple lol) and I love it, so I know I'll enjoy that! Yuuuuuum!!

    Oh gosh! I watched you and Hugh so much starting about ~10 years ago (I looked back and I had watched some of your first vlogs!) but I stopped watching youtube so much around 7 years ago, so I hadn't checked out your channel in years (sorry!). Just yesterday I came across Sara and Hyun's story on another website and I watched some of her vlogs and felt so heartbroken. I watched the vlog where Sara and Hyun revealed their relationship, and they talked about meeting through you and Hugh, and all my memories of watching your vlogs came back and I had to see how you are doing, so what a coincidence that you have just posted this video. I'm so sorry about what happened to Sara. Even just watching a few of her vlogs it seems like she was such a kind, funny, beautiful person and I can imagine she was such a precious friend. I'm going to watch more of her vlogs. It makes so much sense that you took a break, although I look forward to catching up on your lives if you do post more videos :) I don't think you look old at all to be honest, I was surprised that you look just how I remember you! And it's so lovely to see your children, and your family enjoying life between Aus and Korea. I'm a kiwi and I was living in Japan when I originally watched your vlogs, so a lot of the discussions on the difference between Aussie/Korean culture was really interesting to me, because it felt a bit like being neighbours with Aus/NZ and Korea/Japan! Anyway sorry for this novel of a comment, just wanted to share some thoughts especially since you mentioned some of us might be watching you after a long time - here I am! Haha

How do you integrate English into daily life? Do you have a "family language"? What is Hugh doing now and what is your work now? Are you still drawing? Are the kids drawing as well? Just a random collection of question. :) Wishing you and your family all the best!

    Great to see you guys back! Honestly you are so natural and keep it real, I just love your videos. I would love to know more about your struggles with learning Korean, as I know a lot of people think you just magically pick up a foreign language if you are immersed and have a partner who is a native speaker. I also know that it's very easy to lose yourself when you have young kids-your illustrations and videos are such a big part of you so very happy to see them coming back, even if it's slowly but surely. I'm loving following along with Hugh's "new" venture and would definitely like to know a bit more about how that evolved. Also, I feel you about getting old (even though you are not old haha) and good on you both for getting back on track with fitness-I truly wish I had started taking care of myself long before I did so I admire you doing it with very young kids. Welcome back-looking forward to seeing you more. 😍
