"inside out 2 communicated the message of simply accepting all emotions, even the messier ones" that's basically the message of the first movie -- accepting parts of yourself you previously thought were unacceptable. so this is a rehash albeit with the added drama of riley being a teenager.

I agree - seasons 1&2 kept closer to the books in that all characters had roles but the main characters were the center of the season & their storylines were full. I was sadly disappointed with Season 3 - too many storylines & the one of the main characters in the original Julia Quinn book about Colin & Penelope were slighted. For example, the book scene where Colin breaks in on a Featherington family get together to announce his proposal to Penelope was wonderful & would have shown more of Colin’s character & growth - not to mention a fun scene. Instead we rushed thru the Colin/Penelope story, Francesca was not given her due, & Benedict felt “thrown in”. My fav book is the one about Eloise & Sir Philip, but sadly given what became of Season 3, this may be my last….😢

I think it is so much easier to criticize. How many of us have had terrible relationships. Yes she wants to be married and maybe she doesn’t pick the right men, but guys have a heart. I have a lot of girlfriends that have terrible relationships and are hoping one day to meet the right one. You all have to realize that getting married and having a man in certain cultures is very important. I was born in South American and older and marriage is very emphasized. Wish her well and have some compassion.

Tbh the hate train is a bit too much... these tik tokers are a bunch of sheep. She's a harder worker, not everything you do in life is milk and hone. there are ups and downs along the way. People are behaving like she committed a crime or something. There are men in the industry doing very questionable things and they don't get as much hate or consequences for their actions. People are just out bashing JLo for likes and clout. Really sad. Also she's over 50 and that's a sin on our society. Ageism, sexism...the list goes on

Oh, I didn't know she was on the 1st 2 seasons too. There's another opinion regarding book vs show, and Jess Brownhall, which struck me as why some of the plot twists or characters this season was a little chaotic with Francesca. I know every show is scramble for the DEI thing, which is fine, if it suits the plot, or character. So i found it a little...strange? Almost projecting for the sake of it, / ego? and spoiling the whole her and John sweet, slow, gentle courting. Quote from Jess... "I see a lot of myself in Francesca, so I made her queer." Despite the books and for no apparent plot/ character service- just change that part because I can? I just don't think decisions like that, or "subverting expectations", is anything but self serving. They already have the racial issue, and the bi Benedict (not according to the book), so I don't really understand the point. Not the only one either. Sad.

I just rewatched the series again for the 4th time and I disagree about not knowing Colin. If it wasn’t for Penelope he would not have entertained the idea of writing a book. He found his purpose because of her. In the book he felt he had to protect Pen and withheld telling her he loved her because he was not sure he loved her. I loved that they reversed it by introducing another suitor. That forced him to deal with what he was feeling. I loved that Penelope took action to come forward with her story even risking the possibility of an annulment. It took watching it a third time to catch that part. My biggest problem the first time was that the ending gave the impression that this series was it. The end so to speak. In the books after Pen is revealed, she gives up Whistledown. I am curious as to how they will incorporate Penelope’s writing throughout the rest of the series. And whether she will write her Wallflower novel and become a famous authoress.

Okay, I can see that. I do plan to watch over this season so hopefully I pick up on some of what you said. I'm also curious about next season too. Really hope they continue Penelope's story and not just have her the background so to speak.

Polin story was wasted, it could have been a very interesting and and very good romance story. There were a lot of sidestories that are irrelevant specifically Mondrich. The Benedict threesome and gender swap in Francesca's story are also off.

The lack of the intimate scenes between Colin and Penelope were compensated by other love scenes that weren't even part of the Bridgerton books. It was like an advertisement of LGBTQ's. It's a shame when those fillers could have been more integration with Daphne or possibly Anthony. I will speak only for myself. I started watching this series because I enjoy reading a good book where the male character falls in love with the female character and through problems they get stronger as they give us so many romantic scenes that all you can do is dreamily sigh. That is my genre and I really don't care about all the other characters that experiment, think everything they do is normal etc. If the writers of this series wanted to astonish viewers in all the wrong ways, they could at least have had the decency to name it something different and leave the good name of Bridgerton alone. If I wrote books, forgetting myself to get into characters, to plan ahead a good plot and to be thrilled so many woman liked my genre, I would be really pissed off if others puppeted my characters to their will to idealise something that wasn't even in the book. And that is not creativity. That is copying something already there and placing it upside down! I really have to pass this season. And from the looks of it others as well. It isn't anymore the romantic type but a confusional aspect that not many have. PS what does the author has to say about this? Does really greed and money shuts one up?

I read an article in which the show runner said she talked to the author about Francesca's story and got her "blessing" so I guess she's okay with everything. Really holding out hope for season 4!
