nice video and info, It is a lot to balance with the chords and vocals and to get through a 5 minute song takes practice and work

I love channels that are simple and actually get to the point. Tired of all those fancy channels making things more complicated than necessary

I love your chord arrangements but if I can make a suggestion and that is to really sing much louder because I can't make out anything you're singing about and your voice is barely audible.

I can relate to this as I’m sure many others can too, especially during these times. I’ve been trying to just not take life so seriously anymore and kinda not letting myself wallow in self pity. Sure…sometimes it sucks being by yourself but I’ve also learned a lot about myself over the years and hope to continue doing so. You have a really chill vibe and have a nice soft voice. Keep playing your music man and just be willing to share yourself and your gift to the world.

Thanks for the kind words, and for sharing about yourself. I try to remind myself whenever I feel like dirt, "I won't feel like this forever, it'll pass like it always does." Comes in waves. Hope you're doing well!

Lyrics are in the description. Would anybody be interested in a video series showing how this song was made? It'll cover the bizarre tuning I used and why, as well as the chords, strumming, melody, lyrics/meaning and theory. As a songwriter I always wanted and still do crave a window to "the process" so I though it could be helpful for others if I could be the one to provide that.

Could you make a video focusing on the lyrical aspect of songwriting as well? As a budding songwriter, I often have trouble trying to get through the mental block of getting my even a word down on paper, even when I'm inspired enough to write a song and have my feelings crystal clear. I really enjoy your songs and its lyrics really stand out in a good way, so I was wondering if you could show an in-depth guide on how you go about even starting to write lyrics. Love your videos mate, cheers

Good stuff! The crucial ingredient for melodies that a lot of beginners don't realize though is to include repetition of groups of notes as well, and I did a vid on that I'd love to hear your thoughts on!

Could you please explain to me why regardless of the chord progression I'm using, my melody lines sound identical or very similar? Is it because my songs have the same melodic structure, where the highs and lows of the melody are basically in the same places? Is it just "my style" or is it the fact that I'm mediocre at best and incredibly lazy? I'm getting to the point where I'm considering giving up writing songs altogether because everything sounds identical to me. PLEASE HELP ME!

So using the notes in the chord to pick out the melody is what you're talking about? I've gotten that to work for a couple of songs lately so that I could make a bridge between verses in a song.
