It was probably hard to find a more nerving music. Makes quit watching long before the end of the clip. This lovely boat did not deserve to be treated like that!
Great name for a boat!!!!
How dumb
I found the video very interesting and informative but I was confused by the term "massive flies" (or message fly in one part of the transcript). A search on Google just took me to how to avoid flies (insects) on a boat. Please help.
Just doing some research and learning about the DF95 before becoming an owner and finding one of my heroes doing a clinic! OMG!!! Ken Read supper fan! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
was I 40 years younger, I would be all over this!
Look at all those lines in the cockpit 1:09 it's like a cat's cradle!
EN FRANÇAIS LES COMMENTAIRES EN SOUS TITRE
So when the Tactician/trainer was asking for a couple of less degrees of heel to the helmsman was he really asking for him to point higher?
There is a lot to get my head around in this video. Will need to look at it a few times. First take and understanding indicates that effort will be worthwhile.
...
Stupid video. Could have been great if you showed what they were actually talking about but my god. Maybe you could learn something from the retro boat series? Or BUY the rights to that show from Sailing Anarchy!
*DEFEND YOUR HOLES MEN! BUT BE PREPARED TO SACRIFICE SOME OF IT!*
Price 😮 no good
electric engine with diesel genset, horrible nav station layout.. better use of space.. might as well expand that bathroom.. why duel helm in that layout.. seems better to just have it centered. why a center board, why not c foils in the amas ?
Fantastic guys. congrats!
Thanks for going leeward of us near 4 mile crib as you blew past us. It was fun seeing a boat in front of us. It wasn’t me
Shout out to Team Rambler (USA 99) at 9:52 for finshing first on day 2 in ORC 2 distance race
MOJO had a great regatta...
@ 27:27. Mojo bowman with the fast hands!
Excellent photography and some hairy racing!
Tough conditions. Brave to fly a spin. Skilled to fly it without wiping out.
I sailed in a one design fleet a few years. We won just about every race Kicked some butts at the nationals and we talked about just about everything except sailing the boat.. our team was so good
Hey Dave Reed! Check out the upward climb of the 105 at the Chicago Noods this year. Many fleets seem to have found some new legs and we all know the pull of one design racing. Beautiful boat!
My thoughts exactly! Doubled the fleet size!
Excellent interview, John!
What is going on with the camera? This video is frustrating to watch. Gary is explaining the layout and controls which is difficult to interpret by audio only while the video is showing J/35s racing. Please, we need better production of a great series that I very much enjoy and hope there is more exploring of different classes and their boats.
1:23 HAHAHAHAHA
we need more videos like this, but more in depth, talking hardware, deck layouts, lots of into to spread out there would help the sport!
Congratulations Mike and Crew!! 🤩⛵️
I wish you would have shown the deck items that Gary Snider was talking about rather than just boats sailing....
Agreed. We'll have to pay a visit to their laboratory soon. They are saviors of this class for sure.
@@sailingworld is it possible to update us with a link with pictures of the deck layout,
Brilliant explanation and discussion, great attitude. I too will adopt this approach, thank you
Schade das es nicht geklappt hat. Konnte eine Ursache für den Mastbruch gefunden werden?
Having raced Annapolis this year on Division 3 course with all of the J Boats, it was very tricky working all of the traffic, especially as we were the last start on a J-80
Really great presentation, I watched both parts, like you both said, have a good start, go fast and get the first shift... its easy. Thanks for the videos
Obviously someone attached the wrong video to this title.
That Canadien guy on the Waszp doing great! Go Damien! 🙌
Best coach on the web.
Thank you Marty. Love our conversations with Mike. Feel free to send us any topics you need answers to!
Tha audio is fine...wind exists...thanks for sharing your experience from the inside
The correct edge of the middle
Love this kind of trimaran sailboat since i was a kid❤❤
Congrats to a great Great Lakes sailor!!!
Your throttle curves are usually used on helis. It's to set your rotor speed relative to your collective pitch. Idle mode just sets a throttle setting that doesn't move while you adjust collective pitch using the joystick. Normal adjusts throttle and collective at the same time with the joystick. Using these curves on the boat is a great idea. On my radio I have a three position switch. You could set each position to haul in the sails at maximums by setting the throttle curves to 0-100 on switch positition 1. (Black) Throttle curve 5-100 on switch position 2. (Red) Throttle curve 10-100 on switch position 3. (Green) I wish I could come race with you guys.
Grate suggestions and advices. Thanks.
Great video. Makes me want to partake! I've watched it twice, and plan to have my teenage son watch it as well.
Thank you for the video and also for the specification of these tactics regarding the Sunfish, much appreciated
What’s even-even
Can't get past the music... ugh. Probably why the jib sheets were led up the mast.
They look as wide as a canoe.
21:40 scenario. You are the leeward boat trying to make the pin at the start. Before the start, you have luffing rights. After the start, you don't have luffing rights. Correct? So if you are trying to make it around the pin and the starting gun goes off, can you still luff up and use momentum to get around the mark if there is a boat immediately to windward of you and would also have to luff?
That skeg is gonna slice through wave like nothing happened even if it accidentally touch down or in displacement mode
I think those set of foils are old , probably won't see the real thing until Thursday
