Incredible, I don't know if it's my impression or what, but you can hear Jacob enter 1/4 of a note lower so as not to go over Chris's voice, who was still singing a little low.

Look I love Jacob's performance, but I feel more when Chris sings it and get the feeling it's too much about technical ability when Jacob sings it. I listened to his cover of 'Hallelujah' and there too I felt the song disappeared a bit in the technical splendor. Love 'Little Blue' mahogany sessions though, profoundness and technical ability were equally matched there in my opinion. Feel free to disagree off course.

Jacob Collier’s line to Chris Martin about sticking with it at the very end of the video is so good.

I’ve never seen so much talent and so little ego in a room. Jacob knew exactly where Chris was going with the movie reference the moment he started to describe it.

Chris has written so many wonderful songs that have touched so many people. I find it so beautiful that he was moved when Jacob sang his song back to him. This moment was such a gift for both musicians (and us who were blessed enough to witness it), even though he got a little embarrassed.

Omg this is beautiful. I know Jacob is crazy talented and in a technical sense perhaps it may be viewed as “better “skilled but it’s Chris who makes the hairs stand up on my neck and tears come ❤️ I’ll take Chris’ raw talent any day over over the top runs. Coldplay are just pure magic

I remember watching this stream when it was live. iirc, I think Chris stopped quite a few if not most of the songs they were doing because of how amazing Jacob's singing/playing was. I really wish Chris could have embraced and enjoyed Jacob's playing rather than feel what I can only assume was inferiority seeing as how he referenced Amadeus(amazing movie btw). For those that didn't quite get what he was talking about, it's like pouring in blood, sweat and tears into something that took you a long time to make and then watching someone else just come along and make it even better with little to no effort. There are some musicians who love that kind of shit(me included) but there also a lot who don't, and understandably so.

Two hugely contrasting approaches to music, if I may be so bold as to suggest. Coldplay is entirely about allowing the music and the emotion and the harmony to shine through in all of its native simplicity. Jacob is all about imposing himself upon it, in an equally fabulous and brilliant way, but ultimately in a different way.
