If I shall describe myself, I am a nature photographer who loves to sit still and let nature come to me. I prefer to work on projects and rarely travel on "traits" when it comes to birds or other animals, but I try to work goal-oriented with what I am doing. My career as a nature photographer took off in 2009 with my first digital system camera. Before that, I have been photographing nature and the environment since I was 10 years old when I was allowed to borrow my father's camera.
Have fun and be inspired.

Amazing shots of the black grouse, they look beautiful, thank you for sharing
Beautiful, pin sharp images. Magnificent video Goran! Henry
Thank you so much Henry and thank you for your kind comment 🙏🙏😀😀
Lovely photos and video, as always, Göran. Black Grouse are a superb bird and not photographed often enough. There are two or three leks, around 50-60km from where I live, but it means getting up very early, especially in the summer months. No hide but you can see them close to the road. I look forward to your next video. Mark.
Thank you so much Mark and thank you for your kind comment 🙏🙏😀😀 Yes you must go up early in the morning but it’s worth it. 😀
Magnifique!
Merci beaucoup.🙏😀
Hey Göran, thank you for the great video, the photos are incredible beautiful. and they are worth the effort Hopefully you are dry again 😄
Ha ha. Thank you so much Pedro and thank you for your kind comment 🙏😀 I was a bit inattentive, unfortunately, but now I'm dry again.😂😂
I meant to say hear the boreal owl as you did in the video. I am sure you get to see them sometimes too.
Fantastic foties and video as usual Göran. We don't get boreal owls here in the English Lake District so it must be great to see them and as you did in the video, see them. I am not English. I am Scottish but have lived here for over 30 years ❤❤❤
Hi Andrew and many thanks again for your comment. Yes, sometimes you see them, but they have decreased considerably here in southern Sweden. 🙏🙏😀😀
a very good video! Our grouse (rock ptarmygan) is not as fancy as your black grouse colour vise ;)
Thank you so much and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀 Yes they are really fancy.
Heaven on earth!
Absolutely, that's how it is with nature. 😀
Wow Göran! A great video, amazing footage of the Black Grouse and world class stills. I'm guessing you shot with the 400 f2.8 lens? They are beautiful birds, the hen's camouflage is remarkable. Thanks for uploading, that was so lovely to see today. Cheers, Robert.
Thank you so much Robert and yes it was the 400mm 2.8. 🙏😀🙏😀 It's quite dark in the morning so it's good to have 2.8. 😀😀
@@Halmstadfoto It does give a certain, fantastic look to the images, in your hands anyway.🙂
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏😀😀
I like when you said "Nature photographer" instead for the negstive connotation of "WILD life photography" used by the corporations!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. Yes, I love everything to do with nature, even if it's not always animals I film. 🙏🙏😀😀
Amazing ! Thans for sharing !
Thank you so much Erik and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏😀
*Imagine situations like that **6:47** and conversation with random people* Someone: What do you do for living? Person: I am a professional wildlife photographer! _Meanwhile: Camera on tripod, autocapture set on, A guy sitting in home eating ice-cream, or watching Netflix in local park, waiting for autocapture_
Ha ha😂😂 Nice! I don't know if this is the development we want, but now when it exists it's just a matter of learning.😀😀👍👍
@@Halmstadfoto I hope there won't be any "AI" automatic photo-change, like RAW image + AI file, that removes branches, makes more shallow depth of field and so so... I mean.. Some things are making everything easier, but some might change photography on the bad side 🥲
I agree with you but still a lot of knowledge is needed to capture an object. Landscape and macro photographers are probably big winners in the future with AI.
@@Halmstadfoto I think so.. Imagine you can have lens with f/8.0 on 35 mm lens, and still have AI perfect blurr (I mean as for 1.4 aperture), it will be killing lenses lobby.
Hi, do you always shoot in Matrix metering?
Hi Mathieus and Thanks for the comment. Most of the time I do that but sometimes I use center weighted. Spot measurement is also used, but rarely. By default I use matrix.
@@Halmstadfoto thank you very much 🙏🏻
As Always, an enjoyable video. Bit I can't wait for the one about the European bison ❤
Thank you so much Andrew. 🙏😀 That movie comes after the black grouse. 😀😀
Hey Göran, thank you for this great video. Unfortunately I don’t have a camera with this feature. But I have never thought, that bird photography can be so comfortable . But be careful, this method for shooting photos can be dangerous, if you make it too often a lot of icecream can increase your weight ;-))
Thank you so very much Pedro for your comment. You have to be careful not to gain too much weight. Ha ha😂😂😂
Merci pour ces Belles photos et ces conseils.
Merci beaucoup pour votre aimable commentaire. 🙏😀
Thanks Göran to share your secrets with us!
Thank you so much for your comment. 🙏😀
Thanks for this video Goran, I have autocapture on my Z8 too but have never used it, will give it a try. I do use precapture which is great and useful but only JPEGs unfortunately... Cheers, Robert.
Thank you so much Robert and good luck with autocapture. 🙏😀
The only one thing that keeps me out of Z8 is lack of RAW pro-capture. I'd rather go OM-1 for that. For sure I wanna change my gear, but I have mind trouble to which side to go.
@pentagramyt417 I think that Nikon works with it on the Z9 and Z8
Very nicely done!. Why do you have flicker reduction on? Without it, autocapture focus is perhaps better.
Thank you so much 🙏😀 I didn't know that, so now I have to try it. 😀 Thank you!
There will soon be a film about Black Grouse and a description of how I operate a camera out on the bog.
Great photos and film footage. You deserve the success by the amount of hard work you have applied. Well done !!
Thank you so much Graham and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏😀
Utterly fantastic work. Thank you.
Thank you so much Pandles and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀
Really looking forward to more excellent photography from you Goran
Thank you so much Stephen for your kind comment. 🙏😀
Tack igen. 🙏😀
Some of these animals we don’t have them in my country so I am very interested in your upcoming videos. 😀
Hi Marieta. That was nice to hear. Hope you will like them. 🙏🙏😀😀
Looking forward to the new content.
Thank you so much Jeff. 🙏😀
Thank you for this promising announcement from Poland and Sweden! I met the bisons two years ago when driving by car along the polish border to Belorussia - a group of 60 or 70 animals. During winter and spring they are frequently there on the farmland early in the morning before they disappear in the forest. A very impressive animal!
Thank you so much Walter. 🙏😀 They feed them there in the winter so I've been thinking about going there then.
Looking forward to your new adventures!
Thank you so much Swawek. 🙏😀
How nice to see you, Goran, in my homeland
Thank you so much Danius. I have worked in Poznan several times with IT. Then it was the seventh time I was photographing in eastern Poland. I love being there.❤️
yes, of course, I want to see more Thank you Göran
Thank you so much Pedro. 🙏😀
Hey Göran, Thank you for this great video, the movies, the photos and the tipps
Thank you so much Pedro and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏😀
Merci. A bientôt pour les photos.
Merci beaucoup. 🙏😀
Looking forward to seeing your KZread videos. The one about the European bison is the one I am most excited about. ❤
Thank you so much Andrew and it was a success as one day we saw twelve different individuals. 🙏😀
@@Halmstadfoto sounds amazing Göran. I've seen a bull European bison at a farm park in Ayr, Scotland. I was brought up there. It was enormous. They must look a hugely amazing site in person in the wild.
Yes, they are very large and muscular. We stood still and they came closer and closer but apparently they are very calm. You don't always see them in the forest, but we were lucky.
Good to see you again, Göran. And good plans for the future!
Thank you so much Joost. Just now all time goes for the great grey owl. 🙏😀
Great video!
Thank you so much Eyglo. 🙏🙏😀😀
Hello Göran, really nice to see you at work and the time you put in it pays out very well!!! Excellent images and a feast for the eye!! Greetings Gijs
Thank you so much Gijs and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏😀 Sometimes it pays off if you put in a little preparatory work. 👍
Lovely photographs of one of my favorite little birds! We just photographed them in Hungary--thankfully it was warmer! Regards, Catherine D.
Thank you so much Catherine and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀 Yes, it's one of my favorite birds too. 😀
Outstanding.
Thank you so much Chris and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀

Why dont u use the lens wide open but 7.1 or 8
Sometimes when I think the light is sufficient, I turn up a step because I think it will be a bit sharper in certain situations.
Good video
Thank you so much and thank you for your kind comment. 😀🙏
Fantastic video as usual. I love your videos and images.
Thank you so much again Thomas and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀

Beautiful pics Göran, thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you so much again Michael and thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀
I just went out this morning for the kingfisher which is living in the royal parc where I live in the Netherlands. It is only open to the public for two months. My favorite stick was removed! I don't know if they allow me to put a new stick myself...
It was sad to hear but think of it as helping the bird to get food more easily so put up a stick.
